Sounds good, once a month is good for me. Sundays might be better than Saturdays but either could be fine. I might be able to join like a half day so 3 to 4 hours. Nothing until June though. Great chance to try something new. Do we use minis and floor plans like 4th edition d and d. 5th edition DandD is coming out soon.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

Re: Gamma World? Like, for reals, face to face.
Sounds like 4 players for a June / July start, then! Nice, thanks. 3/4 hours on a Saturday once a month sounds just about right to me too.
@ash - yeah, the combat is on a grid, although I'll likely be using the (very nice) cardboard pogs that came with the game rather than miniatures, if only for ease of transport. I'm pretty sure there are no plans to update the game when 5e comes out, as this edition was basically a limited edition, that's-all-there-is-and-there-ain't-no-more release.
@jus - The idea of this edition is the game is that, some 200 years ago, a big science experiment somewhere went terribly wrong and all the possible realities on Earth collapsed in on each other - some where aliens invaded in the 1940s, some where an Atlantean magitech society controlled the earth, and many many realities where the cold war ended in nuclear armageddon. By the book, it has a sort of Thundarr the Barbarian feel. Character generation is completely random - you get two "origins" which tell you what kind of weird mutant / alien / robot you are, and it's your job to explain how they fit together in an interesting way. (To give you an idea, there's an online character generator here.) Each origin gives you a selection of powers and abilities and such.
For example, the first character I got when I loaded the page up was a "Giant Plant" - Giant means a creature that's 7 or 8 feet tall and super-strong and all that, and "Plant" is, well, a plant. So, an Ent, basically, though whether it's a sentient walking tree that's a result of weird scientific experimentation, or mutation from radiation, or from a worldline where plants naturally evolved in that direction is up to me.
(We'll make characters together, 'cause I have a house rule or two in mind to make it a little bit less random, so feel free to fiddle with the character generator, but don't get too attached to any ideas, heh.)

So I've looked at my calendar - how's July 7th for a tentative start date? Better safe than sorry with all the folks (me included!) who seem to have busy Junes.

I wish I could commit to an RPG. That demo Gamma World game your ran was a blast. Maybe I can make a "special guest appearance" for a session once and a while, if possible.
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

Totally possible, I'd be glad to have you.Konrad wrote:I wish I could commit to an RPG. That demo Gamma World game your ran was a blast. Maybe I can make a "special guest appearance" for a session once and a while, if possible.
Heh, I'm surprised people liked the demo I ran as much as they claim to, considering that it was a) pretty railroady, and b) ended in a TPK.

If July 7th works for jus and Moyashimaru, then, I'll head over and (try and) reserve a room in the next couple few days.
