UNA troops are some of the hardest to get a hold of, but they're 6 to a box.

Yup. Pricing of regular infantry is/was definitely one of the line's weak points. $24 MSRP for 6 pre-painted plastic dudes from Rackham, or for 10 unpainted plastic dudes from GW. Just depends on how much value you think the painting adds.

That is an expensive unit. The prepainting was nice, but the loss of the ability to pose models and customise them easily doesnt make up for it. Personally, I'm not a painter. Painting is a war of attrition that I am steadily losing. But prepainted minis... I dont want to pay more to get less.

It's balanced out somewhat by pricing on vehicles, but I do tend to agree. If you consider the Fire Toad, that iconic squat walker, it's $30 for a vehicle and a piece of terrain, and the vehicle itself bulks out a wee bit more than a Dreadnought.

Hmm. I can't find a size comparison pic of the Toad, but the Cobra in this pic sold for $40 and included a hero miniature in the box. As you can see, it compares favorably in bulk to the $50 Leman Russ, and is significantly bigger than the $45 Carnifex and the $45 Dreadnought.

Still, yeah. I don't want to be an apologist - the line did have its weaknesses, which probably contributed to Rackham's collapse. I'd count "mis-pricing unit boxes" in the big file of mis-management screwups.

Welp, I risked the wrath of the lovely Akiko and picked up a small Cogs army, to be expanded if any models are still available the next time I have extra cash. That should do it for my AT-43 spending spree, though. Thanks for triggering it, Badruck - thanks a lot.

no worries man... I am happy that I am not the only one in deep trouble with the wife.... I got mine by asking her when she was half asleep... wide awake she was like WTF you got more models... "I though you were going to cut down on your model buying"...
