Dust warfare is here (or hereabouts)...

This might just persuade me to start on another system, which I have been reluctant to do (not being as mad as Prim

).

The Spevna is sorely tempted.

I have had this on order with Maelstrom since it was announced. Just waiting for FFG to ship it outside of the US. I plan to bring it to Joshin at the end of May.
Dust Tactics is a cool game, so I am hoping that Andy Chambers has worked his magic and made Dust Warfare an awesome game.

Don't forget the power-fist armed gorillas, laser gun wielding grenadiers and (hopefully by the end of this year) aliens in flying saucers.

Gorillas do nu'in for me, I'm afraid. Space aliens, however...

Does anyone know how similar the rules will be to Dust Tactics?

A lot of the rules, particularly movement and line of sight will be different as Tactics plays on a grid, but warfare doesn't.
Hopefully the combat rules will stay the same.
#edit# - Having looked at the glossary on the FFG website, it looks like the combat rules and the Dust dice are indeed the same between Tactics and Warfare. The activation stage is more or less the same (2 actions per unit which can be move, shoot or something else), but they have added a reaction option if enemy units approach to close or open fire on you.
And if you want to get a head start on a faction for Dust Tactics/Warfare, Amazon Japan sell the starter set at a
reasonable price. (Its actually cheaper than Maelstrom in the UK)
