So, GW have a tendency to do wee teaser trailers of their stuff about a week before it comes out, because lawdy gawd itd be terrible if their customers ever actually found out about new releases they were planning in advance, lawks yes indeedy...

ahem

anyway, I saw this wee teaser for infinity (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rShBdvAQ ... ture=share) and am kinda thinking

Is it good, or is it cheesy? I'm kinda torn between "heh, cute" and "nosir, Idontlikeit".

What say you all? (I mean the trailer technique, not the minis or the game Infinity. The minis are, of course, lovely, and the game remains a mystery to me, and so it is likely to remain.)

They need to begin providing trailers with actual information: pictures of figures, information on what might be released, exciting new rules. Most other gaming companies are able to provide teasers of one sort or another just fine. (BF releases periodic "Fireside chats" or explanations of their future plans for FOW and even teaser pictures of products. I've seen PP release pictures of Colossals.) I understand that GW likes to keep a firm grip on information of its product developments, so all the more importance on releasing product information in intelligible ways (not just wailing sounds over a menage of reds and blacks). This is an expensive hobby and gamers are always making decisions on future purchases. I think teasers should be treated as one more way to get information to their patrons, not just a chime to prompt them to open their wallets.

That infinity teaser, beautiful. It is campy and fun entertainment. I see models. I see some information on what is to come. I've never played this game but I come away wanting to play it. ( :? )

Personally, the silly teaser for the Chaos release was so offensive to me it just affirmed my decision to avoid GW purchases for 40k and WHFB for some time. I'll make an exception for Epic/BB/Mordeheim where GW treats its fans with more decency.

Yeah, the teaser certainly is exciting and gets the viewer interested in the game. :)

We play so many games already, so the question is, 'Is there interest and room for another?'. These skirmish type games seem to be gaining in popularity given the cost and carry benefits etc :?:
