Great, another game for them to drop all support of previous games for.
Sorry, dont mean to be negative, but so far Spartan have done a pretty poor job of keeping their existing games going and fulfilling previous promises.
E.g.
Release Uncharted Seas, promise 28mm fantasy game which never happens.
Release Firestorm Armada, promise 15mm SF game which never happens.
Release Dystopian Wars, pretty much ignore US and FA from this point on except for printing 2 more versions of US and rereleasing all the old ships again, promise 28mm steampunk game.
The models do look excellent, so here's hoping that they can break the mold and actually do it right this time.

Also, of course, another game for them to rush out messy unbalanced rules for!
Pretty enough models, though.

I agree. Uncharted Seas was really simple and the rulebook revisions just added the extra stuff that came after the first wave of releases. From what Frans has said about DW, you need to buy the second edition book if you want to play the game as the first is a bit of a mess.

So wait, they're promising full support for 10mm
and 15mm
and 28mm? For (presumably) all 6 of the core Firestorm Armada races? Pictures, nice as they are, of half a dozen unit types at one of those scales doesn't exactly fill me with confidence that they'll be able to come through with support for such a - well, I'll be polite and call it an optimistic plan.
Edit to add: I don't really doubt they'll be able to design and produce the models - they seem to be quite prolific on that front, especially with vehicles what with CAD and resin casting. But I'm kind of partial to companies that take time to make sure they're producing good
games.
(Also, and of course I would, but I think 10mm and 15mm aren't nearly distinguished enough in scale to justify saying a 10mm scale game and a 15mm scale game will play any differently. But that's mostly because I'd selfishly like more sources of 1:300 sci-fi buildings.)

I agree they have been bad at supporting some of the games, however since I got back and started to play dystopian it have been spot on. It is a company that is learning fast.
I have only played Dystopian wars and that support have been very good, (the rules where hard to understand = new rulebook, lack of fluff and scenario = scenariobook)
The rulebook cost less than 15£ on maelstrom. 30£ for a started fleet, they contain 750 pts the scenarios in hurrican season is around 1000-1200. Still cheap
As for the model I like them.

So two years after they announced it, they have changed the scales from 6mm to 10mm and they have 2 basic armies ready. Not only that, they didn't include any info on it in the newsletters they send out.

I was very excited about it when they announced it.

In the meantime Dropzone Commander has come along and got a heck of a lot of attention from the gaming community.
I think Spartan make very nice minis, they can make nice rules when they try and their prices are very very good, but they need to work on getting their act together for marketing and building interest in their products as well as supporting what they already have available. Hopefully they will continue to improve their service and learn from their mistakes because I would love to see them do well.

(And support US more

).

Guess what I just got in my mailbox?
@Prim - If I where in your shoes I would throw in an order for hurricane season into my next order from maelstrom/wayland, I like it.
