Gamezone is trying to do a 25th anniversary edition of Heroquest. They own the rights to the game license in Spain and that allows them to make, distribute and sell it worldwide apparently.
The kickstarter is here:

Dunno why they are doing it in Canadian Dollars though....

Wow this is going to make a packet I reckon. Still the best game too.

Tempting, tempting. That said, I just got walloped with the mother of all credit card bills (flights for 4 and a new PC in the same month. That, plus cost o living meant my card was maxed out

)
I'll wait till nearer the end of the KS and see how it's looking. I need to rein in my gaming spending I reckon, and there's never gonna be an easy time to do it, so may as well bite the bullet now, no?

I'll wait until next Christmas when it's actually released. That way, if there's any legal issues, it's someone else's money that's wasted on lawsuits and damages.
Heroquest isn't a very good game, anyway.

No rose tinted glasses then? Yeah, you're probably right, but don't discount nostalgia value. Hero Quest was my gateway drug into this hobby. I'm sure GW will challenge this if they can, but by the sound of things the new company has checked the legality of it all before this KS. The thing putting me off is the price tag, close to 100 pounds inc. shipping isn't exactly cheap.

I knocked the nostalgia on the head by playing it recently; it's not aged well. I'd much rather play Descent. As it is, I'll keep the memories (Dave, remember the epic tale of Legless the Elf and Grungni Fimir-Flattener?)

I remember em well. (well, I do now you mention em). Those were indeed happy days of yore. iirc were Jules and Juliet not involved in those games? The mind boggles...

Possibly, although probably due to desperation and boredom during another washed-out West of Scotland "summer".

Well, looks like the KS is on hold while an IP issue is resolved. MB Games had the rights to the game originally, except in the states where someone else had them. It's not clear who has challenged GameZone, but hopefully it will be resolved quickly.
