It's very characterful and fits the army, if only it were plastic. Fingers crossed for the new Witch Hunters.Admiral-Badruck wrote:I like the SOB model better than the new one but that is just me...

Re: Chapter 666
The APU - sorry, Dreadknight - is still awful, but the Terminators are nice. Not too blingy. They should have halberds, though.
The Stormraven looks much better in gunmetal than in red.
They'll be quick to paint, anyway - Chainmail base, Badab Black, Asurmen Blue, drybrush with chainmail and Mithril Silver, a quick edge highlight of silver then do the fiddly bits.
I wonder how compatible with other Terminators those Grey Knights will be? They'd make useful parts for an honour guard-type unit.

If the GK weird walker thingy is plastic, I'd take bets the SoB analog will be as well.Primarch wrote:It's very characterful and fits the army, if only it were plastic. I'm digging on the plastic GKs, though. Personal teleporters? Sign me up! (On the other hand, 20 pounds for 5? Ouf! Is that the going rate these days?)
Edit to add: Also not a fan of the terminator sculpts, sorry. Those are some bizarre-looking crotches on those fellas.
Feel free to call me Dave!

@AGP - Halberds are in the box apparantly. And it looks like the bits are all scaled to fit existing marine sets. All the SW/BA/DA/BT bits are interchangable with the vanilla stuff, so I imagine these will be too.
@ToD - A box of 10 tactical marines is usually £23, but newer kits like the Blood Angels Sanguinary Guard are £20 for five models. Models that can be used in any range are cheaper as they expect to sell more. That said, I would NEVER buy directly from GW.
Hmmm, interesting. Looking through the Grey Knight unit options on the GW shop it appears that several Witch Hunter models (Inquisitor models, Lord Karamazov, several inquisitorial acolyte models and the Arco-flagellants have changed factions).

"grey knight inquisitor with grimoire"
"grey knight inquisitor with null rod"
"grey knight inquisitor with plasma pistol"
wtf is a grey knight inquisitor? Grey knights are a chapter of space marines. Inquisitors are members of the inquisition. Yes, GKs work for the inquisition, but that dont make inquisitors GKs, does it?
or have they retro-fluffed again?

whaaaaaaaaaaat?
apologies, but have GK always had daemonhosts? I know some inquisitorial types use em, but I thought GK were all "purge the heretic" and wouldnt tolerate daemons in any form or for any reason.
or am I wrong?

Re: Chapter 666
Daemon Hunters have always had daemonhosts. In the old book you could play radical inquistion if you didnt take Grey Knights. I think the change in name is because the codex has changed from Daemon Hunters (Inq who could take GK), to Grey Knights (GK who can take Inq). They dont want to confuse people or give them the idea that the old codex is still valid. I'm pretty sure the fluff wont have been changed around and that GK are still subordinate to the Inquisition. They've just rebranded everything since the GK are the militant arm of the Ordo Malleus and it is supposed to be a war game after all.me_in_japan wrote:*edit*

The female inquisitor models used to be for Codex Witch Hunters and in fact are still there under their old names.

Wowza!
I have no idea whatsoever how they can crowbar that into a GK army, but frankly I dont care. Jokaero! Somebody at GW still remembers rogue trader. Yay!
