Nice!

Primarch ordered some figures for me, and I'm looking forward to using them in our regular future-setting rpg campaigns. I'm looking forward to using them, though, not making them.

I know they're metal-- how does one put together a figure? I might leave mine unpainted because I'm lazy.

We'll see. I made some Tau back in New Jersey, painted and all, and then set fire to the lot. I have a bad association with figures. Also, I don't own any paints, and I'm against buying assorted colors for only six figures, so spray paint is probably the most I will go.

Anyway, how does one put together metal figures?

Why would you set fire to them? If you didn't need them you could just give them/sell them to someone who wants them instead?

Anyway..
Depending on the size of the miniature and the parts it come with either you will have to pin it or just glue the parts on..
If the parts are really small and few then superglueing could be enough but best is to pin it.
There are many tutorials on pinning, you need:

* Superglue (recommend Aron Alpha)
* A pin vise
* Drill bit for the pin vise, I use a 0,8mm thick one.
* Metal wire/paperclips in the same thickness as the drill bit to use as joints.
* Wire cutter

What I usually do is,
* I drill a hole in the middle of the part where I want the joint, depth depends on the size of the miniature and parts but usually around 5 millimeters deep.
* I put the metal wire in there to check the length, and cut off a small bit.
* I put some colour or something at the tip of the metal wire that is stuck in the part and then merge the part with the body of the miniature where I want it to get a clear mark where the I am supposed to drill the hole on the body.
* Drill another hole a few millimeters deep on the body.
* Take out the old wire and put some superglue at the drilled holes.
* Cutt off a new piece of wire and insert it into the drillhole of the part.
* When this has hardened, apply some more glue to the part that you are putting on the body and join the part together with the body.
* Metal to metal takes a while before it hardens so you have to hold the part together for a while.
* Done.

Sorry for the text tutorial, but if you give it a search on the net, there are many videos of it on youtube and tutorials on other forums. That is how I learned it.

Would you like me to assemble them for you? Given some time and a rough idea of what you want I could probably paint them for you as well. Most of the models you ordered are on their way, but the army starter box hasn't been shipped yet.
Since I have all the tools, paints and equipment already it makes more sense for me to do it than for you to buy everything you'll need and only use it once.

I would take Prim up on his offer he has painted so many models and had put together more than any of us... perhaps Voss could give him a run for his money on quantity but what prime puts together he does very well... he absolutely hates mould lines so there will be none on any model he assembles... the only thing I hate more than mould lines is off topic chatter perhaps we can mover this off of Andrews infinity Minis and move it to how to get models put together... just a thought...
