Malifaux

Post by Mike the Pike » Tue May 18, 2010 5:43 am

So who actually has a gang(s) and who would like to get one?
I have Lilith and her crew of Neverborn.
I wouldn't mind getting a second gang at some stage, perhaps the Ortegas.

I've got Sonia Criid and her Witch Hunters. I'd like to expand them with some guys a bit less focused on killing casters - I'll probably get a couple-few hard-hitting Outcastes at some point.

I currently have Death Marshals built and I also have the Cult of December (arcanists) and the Viktorias (outcasts) still in their boxes.

For those of you who have no idea what Malifaux is, it is a steam-punk style skirmish game. It's main standout feature is that it uses a set of playing cards rather than dice for all in game effects. If you dont like the cards you draw, you also have a limited ability to change those cards. Once you get into it, the system is really really easy to use.

I have the miners and steamfitter guild box (arcanists).
When they're painted (AND NOT BEFORE, BOYLE!) I might get Lilith and her neverborn.

I agree, the models are v purdy, and the game mechs are fun. Everyone should play :)

To b e honest I wasn't too taken with it the one time I played. Admittedly it was after about 7 hors of 40k so perhaps I was a little gamed out by that point. I'd be willing to give it another go.

Played several games today.
Got through 2 games in under 90 minutes each. This game is fun and once you get the hang of it, fairly easy to play.

Coolest rule ever. Blind models ignore Line of Sight. Awesome stuff.
