Awesome Games with Awesome Intros/Cinematics and Cutscenes

Post by Seb » Sat Aug 13, 2011 3:27 am

Howdy again,

Just watched a clip on Youtube that got me feeling all nostalgic.
Have you guys played Lucas Arts "Full Throttle" from 1995?

Image

This is probably one of the best adventure/quest games that I know and recommend you guys to play it if you haven't, I played it and loved it when I was 7, could barely understand the story though. After that I have played it through several times.

The intro is also awesome, check it out.

Never before have I had cause to use the Bill and Ted.

Honestly, I had never even heard of Full Throttle before your post just now, which is wierd, as i was totally into video games from about 1990 to...well, now, actually. Anyway, that is indeed a bitchin good intro. No idea what the game is like, but the intro rocks :D

*edit* dude! That was totally my 2000th post, too. Aces!

I think the game is freeware now.. But I am not sure.
Grats on your 2000th post. :D

Anyway moving on..

Starcraft (1997)

This game contains so much awesome videos, the graphics are old with current standards but they were so ahead of time back then. My favourites:

Thank God for Cold Fusion.

Those are all great.
I really want to play Dawn of War 2 but my PC doesn't meet the requirements. :|

Starcraft was fantastic. Cutscenes, story, and general gameplay were all superb. I must confess to being a zerg player. Ah, the zergling rush - happy memories :D

I just ordered Fallout 3 (and Portal 2) from Amazon UK. Since my folks need to post it over, I could be looking at a ....ooooh, 2 month wait (my folks aint the quickest) but still - excited!

Great game intros: Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver

One of the finest games and storylines ever. The whole series is ace, but Soul Reaver is the one that really started it for me. If you havent played it, you can probably d/l it from somewhere, and itll happily work on most modern PCs.

Ohh, another ace one: Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee

I played both of these when they first came out for PS1, and actually started re-playing them again about a year ago. Havent finished em yet, but stil, their gameplay holds up very nicely.

Fallout 3 is aces. I have completed it about 4 times. There is soooo much to see and do its amazing. The character generation step at the beginning is really well done too.
Plus Liam Neeson voices your dad. How awesome is that?

Drat, now I want to play it again.
