Yeah I watched True Grit this weekend too. It was good. It reminded me of old westerns from John Ford days but without the mindless violence of course. It was good, Coen brothers can be hit and miss sometimes.
In terms of real True Grit though I'd rather watch Scarface. Tony Montanna was a madman!
Unforgiven and Tombstone are also good for (modern) westerns post 1990.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

Unfortunately, the only way to see Troll Hunter here is probably in Norwegian with Japanese subtitles. Still, I may want to anyway. The trailer's pretty awesome.

A marvelous piece of Scandinavian folklore, I wish more movies like these were made.

I watched The Three Musketeers today. The missus had obtained a couple of free tickets, so I figured why not. She wasnt that keen on Cowboys and Aliens, and the only other alternatives were all Japanese movies.

Anyway, tTM was...ok, i guess. Nice costuming and sets n stuff. It's really just a grandiose kids movie, but not a bad one. Daft bits abound, and if you actually think about it at all then you'll be disappointed, but overall the heroes were heroic, the villains were villainous, and people with pointy moustaches actually twirled them. Not a bad way to spend a saturday afternoon :)

Oh, and is it just me or is Milla Jovovich actually quite good at what she does? I mean, I actually like the Biohazard movies. Many dont, but I find em quite entertaining.
