Better than a White Dwarf batrep

Post by Danguinius » Mon Sep 24, 2012 11:54 pm

Greetings,

I thought I`d include a link to a batrep from the legendary Ryogo ("R-Man") and his site. He recently played a big 3500 point battle against our mutual friend, Yamada; Imperial Fists vs. Tau. As they are both two of the top painters in Japan, I thought it might be enjoyable for everyone to check it out.

Awesome. I love their commentary - they have a lot of fun playing and it really shows through.

(I also love Yamada's ita-sha Devilfish. Cracks me up every time.)

Of such things dreams are made. Loving that barracuda. All the FW tau stuff is kickass, but the barracuda and the tetras are my favourite. More of that when the new Tau dex comes out please, GW!

An excellent batrep, and lovely, lovely paint jobs all round. Bravo to both of em :)

They do them from time to time. The full page of reports is here - game reports are the bottom 2 tables, WFB and 40K respectively.

(Dang, they go all the way back. Here's the event report of my first appearance at the Fukuoka group, back in '01.)

Wow, they do go back a ways! There`s some old names from the past (Horten-san, etc.). I just realized that I`ve been wargaming with those guys for 10 years!

I guess Horten-san probably couldn't make it all the way up to Hiroshima from Kagoshima. Shame! He had some inspired conversions.

Yes, he did! His crazy Chaos army for WFB where EVERYTHING was converted (literally nothing was a GW model) and many of the models were actually created by him! I wonder if he is still wargaming down with the Fukuoka group...or maybe he was absorbed into the larger Kita-Kyushu group.
