A quarter bottle of vodka (600 yen) and a game of Traveller (free). Man I love this hobby.
Thanks Moyashimaru for GMing.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

Finding myself intimidated by the idea of painting up my Terminators (I want to get the system for painting up my Scythes down before I start in on them, I tell myself), I put them back in the "waiting" box and prepped up another combat squad of regular tactical Marines.

Good lord, they require a stupid amount of prep. Mold lines out the wazoo, lots of bits you have to leave off so you can paint them without sticking a brush in a 2mm gap... (Have to leave the bolter off so you can get at the chest eagles, have to leave the shoulder pads and backpacks off so you can get at either of 'em.) I don't envy people who have full Marine armies in 40K. Heck, I did once, and looking back I don't know how I did it.

Anyway, Genestealers now on the chopping block, then another Iron Warriors detachment, then those tactical marines and more Iron Warriors. When I'm on, I'm on, I guess.

No kidding. I did one body part a day for ten marines. I still haven't got to all the packs and add ons. Get to them when I have nothing left to paint. I'll keep telling myself that as well since I have battle sisters, a dread knight, dark talon, terminators, two resin characters and the dark vengeance box set coming.

Got some more work done on the ruins. Can't wait to get a few more done to cover my table for a city fight. Problem is I went to all the 100 yen stores but they are out of the foam core I use.

Most of the big stores like Kahma have it but it's expensive. Like 300 yen a piece. Large insulation foam core is a better deal for that price. You can buy a huge sheet for only 600 yen. I'm probably goi g to go to that now. Did some pieces up with it today but still prefer the thinner foam core. From the field and I live in different kens but I don't doubt it that the 100 yen stores have run dry due to gamers.

Worked on the scouts a bit more tonight. It is all slow going and bit by bit, but it is progress nonetheless.

Worked on a bit of a project I've got going on just now. Finished the build, and got some basic spray base coat and a smidge of initial oil-wash shading done. I also went to the fair town of yokkaichi (famed as the location of fort Spevna) and in aforementioned fair town I signed for my mortgage. Huzzah! I now owe an organisation more money than I have ever had in my life to date.

Argh.

On the plus side, house building commences on April 8th. Yuss! Technically, fence-at-back-of-house building commences then, cos builders are sensible folks and there's quite a drop off the back end of my garden-to-be  Still, any progress is good progress, in this case. I also went out for a curry this evening, and once again my eyes were bigger than my stomach and the pakora had to come home in a bag. Still, that's tomorrow's lunch sorted :D

All in all, a productive day, and I still have another day off tomorrow. That's two two day weekends in a row. My employers must be getting soft. (On the down side, I'm off to Australia for 10 days on Wednesday. Bah - no painting, and just when I was on a roll...)

Australia in and of itself is fine. It's the 74 schoolkids I'm taking with me that's the problem...
