Thanks mike. Unfortunately my car is a bit wide and doesn't make it in most of the those towers. 800 is a good deal though. I usually end up paying 2000 yen for the day. Hmmmm, might be taking the train after all unless someone from mie is driving up.Mike the Pike wrote:@PV: Joshin's in-house parking is actually the cheapest in that part of town.
800yen (OK it's not that cheap) for all day. You get a discount if you buy some stuff there too. However, it's a tower park so it can't take big (large, heavy or tall) vehicles. I park there every time.
What did you do today.

Re: What did you do today.
I have almost all my bits for ASC - a box of Tyranid Warriors in the mail (thanks to Ikeda-san for the very generous 30% off deal on the day of the last event!) and today my eBay order arrived, so I put together my Terminator Commander and my Assault Squad. With any luck I'll be all painted and ready to play by summer. (The obvious next step would be to find someone who actually wants to play, heh.)
Feel free to call me Dave!
Re: What did you do today.
Did a bit of painting today. Slowly getting there. Have to paint helmets and weapons and bits, but the bulk of the basing is done. Oh and characters need to be done.
I also need to get on with some fluff for the Fantasy campaign!
@Ashmie - I used to play DOOM on the PC with the sound effects and vocalizations replaced with quotes and sounds from Aliens
That games looks much cooler! GAME OVER MAN! GAME OVER!

Alien vs Predator was an ace game on the PC. It really nailed the atmosphere, as well as balancing the 3 species' abilities really well. It's pretty old now, too, so it should run on pretty any PC these days.
Today, I got back from Australia. Knackered, and have a cold, but glad to be home.

Alien vs predator was a great game. I'm still surprised that there isn't a group of guys that play space marine fps. The maps are limited but still love the feeling of actually battling in 40k in real time.

After gaming last sunday at Zengo I went home and felt fine. On Monday morning I woke up and felt as if someone had stabbed me in the back and I have had terrible back pains all week. No more moving tables for me for a while.
This has put rather a limit on how much time I wanted to spend hunched over my painting area, so productivity this week has been pretty much nil. I did start reading a book about the Royal Welch Fusiliers during the American War of Independence, which has been pretty interesting so far. Aside from that, I've done nothing really hobby related.
Hopefully my back will be better next week and I can resume my hunched posture and crack on with some germans and russians for Bolt Action.

Worked my last day of current job. Sank a bottle of Chilean Merlot, watched series 2 of Hyperdrive and laughed a lot more than the first series. Bemoaned the death of Richard Griffiths (Uncle Monty/Arthur Dursley) and listened to Iron Maiden/Iron Maiden which I picked up on CD from my local record store for 800 yen!
A good day.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

With this in mind about age and getting on I've decided not to buy any more models. Simply because I'm 33 and have probably a 3 to 4 year back log of unpainted models to do. So giving that most peoples eyesight begins to fail around 40 that gives me enough time to get them done by 37. After that it's on to model railroad I'm afraid. I hope by then everyone will follow suit and this site will be called Railroad Hammer. After gaming last sunday at Zengo I went home and felt fine. Re: What did you do today.
Quit buying minis because your eyesight starts to go after you're 40? You do talk a load of old toot sometimes, Ash me old mucker
I firmly intend to go right on buying minis (that I doubtless will not need) right up until I pop my clogs at the ripe old age of 139.
As for today, I mostly stayed at home and sniffled, my nose doing its very best to impersonate a leaky tap. I also drank some tea and ate a couple of chocolate hobnobs, which I had liberated from those cheeky Aussies while I was there
During this taxing routine of hobnob eating/sniffling, I managed to find time to buy a couple of minis off that French bloke that used to work for Rackham, who I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, and book hotel rooms for Naghammer for me and my Mysterious Partner. I mean, he can hardly be expected to book his own room. Showing up on credit card records is obviously not very mysterious. Thus, I act as his intermediary in such earthly matters as booking hotel rooms.
All in all, only a semi productive day, but not a bad effort given the sniffle situation.

@M_i_j - Hope your nose gets better soon mate.
Today I went to the park for a spot of the ol' cherry blossom viewing. The place was packed with people, including the overspill from a Cosplay event in Osu. Made for some interesting sights.
After I got home I painted some camo on some German armour. It's not great, but it looks ok. Just some decals to apply and a spot of weathering to do and I'll be able to start work on the Russian side of things.
