Today I played a game of Malifaux with Pikey and got crushed by the Ortegas. After that we played Cutlass and my Royal Navy crew showed Pikey's Pretty Pirate Princesses who wears the trousers in those waters. After taking out 6 of Mike's 10 crew we called the game. Incidentally my crew rating is now high enough to trigger "The Final Reckoning" in case anybody cares.

After that I came home and put a bit more paint down on my Napoleonic Light Infantry. They're getting there, surely but steadily.

I have been looking at Malifaux stuff today. Must say, I am quite tempted.

Put my gaming table together to see how it looked. Not bad but a long way to go even if it is big. Based a few buildings, the last ones I'll probably make for a long time and glued on some grates to several windows. Then packed it all away and watched the new star trek into darkness movie. I really like the new star trek movies after the horrible adventures of jean luc retard. Also makes me wish the last three star wars movies were directed or shot in a similar fashion. I'm a huge star wars fan but the last three were not to my liking at all. I pray j.j Abrams can find the right blend of good effects and drama as in star trek within a star wars universe. I'd be a very happy camper then. Now off to bed to wake in a few hours to bid on eBay minis.

Got in some quality game time, felt like a while. March since the last games event I attended. Played 40k against MiJ. Relic is very good lads, you must play it if you haven't already. 10/10.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

Can you give a quick rundown of how your racing game thing works?

I stayed home and finished silent hill: downpour. It's had middling reviews, but speaking as someone who has played through SH 1,2,3 and 4, I personally reckon it's one of the best of the lot. Hugely atmospheric, and really captures the wierdy nightmare quality that a good SH game needs.

Oh, and just to clarify - when ash refers to playing me at 40k, he means that was the last bit of gaming he did. He played fantasy yesterday against Satoru :)

Malifaux; wait until 2nd edition comes out after Gencon.

Or don't, if you like the minis and rules that are available now. They'll all be changing soon enough. :)

Minis won't change, I would've thought. A few new ones, aye, but a full redo? Nah.

As for rules - do people actually buy into miniature games for the ruleset? I appreciate than the great law of averages suggests some few might, but by and large folks do it for the aesthetic. Otherwise we'd all be playing chess, no?
