No painting today, but I did manage to get in a game of Malifaux and a game of Bolt Action with Kojibear. In Malifaux, Collette's showgirls used a lot of razzle-dazzle to rescue two orphans from the clutches of Mei Feng's rail crew. In Bolt Action, the contents of a secret documnt were snatched from the hands of the Wehrmachts finest by a group of dedicated Commonwealth Paras. Whilst the cost in lives was high, the plucky Airborne got the job done.

For Colette.

Ah...Colette, the little caged bird. You flew in and flew out, and took my children from me. So sweet, so pretty, my Colette, the tiger's eye will watch you and wait for you to fly into my paws and then you will sing and dance for me.

Right lads, a bit of a sticky wicket, but by George we showed those Jerrys what was what! Those who have left us in body have not left us in spirit. No! Their righteous fire burns within us now, fueling our courage and we will give those nazi devils a right royal thrashing that will make them think the hand of god is dropping from the sky.

But first, a spot of tea. Go put the kettle on!
Thanks for the games Prim! :D

My dearest Ms. Feng,
That is very sweet of you sugar, I'm glad I made such a good impression on you. However, I must warn you that I charge by the hour and judging from that dreadful little ensemble you wore today, I doubt that you could afford my rates.
Anyway, my adoring public awaits.
Ta-ta for now.
C. DuBois.
This evening I started assembling some Napoleonic Hussars. I don't know if I can get them finished and done by the BP event, but I shall try.

@ j-z: Nice rhino. Very impressive that you built that on your own.

@prim: Good luck with those hussars. Remember its all one bootstrap and saber at a time. :D

This is a post accounting for my progress since Friday. I've managed the pants, the yellow fronts to the soldiers and most of the webbing. Next, brown areas! :D

Yesterday night I managed a bit more construction on my trolls. A few odds and ends to gap-fill tonight, and then the Pewter Horde will be ready for some paint :)

I say sir! Nice batting action there :p

Today, I hummed and hawed and prevaricated, with the end result of no painting (bah! trolls still not done yet. Still need to attach a head to a dire troll, and gap fill a bunch of shoulders on reg'lah trollkin) but I did order what I need for my corsairs. It was a right pita working out the most efficient way of doing so, too, but I ended up just saying "sod it" and getting the bulk of it sent to my parents' place. They're coming over in September to meet the new baby (who is due in September, btw) and I figure they can squeeze in a couple of wee boxes of minis. I ended up with:

1 box of wraithguard, 1 Illic Nightspear, and 2 boxes of DE reavers, all bought from Firestorm Games, sent to my folks
1 eldar codex, bought from an ebay seller, shipped to my place here in Japan. I can wait for the minis, but I can't play without a dex, no? (incidentally, if anybody wants to know the nice seller who will ship overseas, PM me and i will tell you. I just don't want to get them into trouble with GW by blabbing their name on t'net. You nerver know who mite be lookin.

Incidentally, after shipping costs and converting to GBP, it cost me 37quid for the book, which I appreciate is actually more than UK RRP, but it's still the cheapest option to get it in my hands. GWJ dont sell an english version, and even then the J version is 6800yen. GW UK wont ship to us here, and for my folks to send a hardback book over would be more than 7quid, and it would likely get damaged. I don't know of any UK retailers that will ship GW stuff here, altho I'm all ears if anybody else does. So, I'm ok with the 37quid. That, and the fact it's being filtered through an indie retailer, so GW can't sit there all smug and think "hey, aint our webstore shiny..."

So, that's what I did today :)

I still plan on buying a Phoenix of some description, but after looking at the total of that lot I think I shall sit on my hands for a bit. But at some point the phoenix shall rise, ohyesitshall...
