Not sure how I will use it in the game yet.
As often as possible mate. :)

It should be easy to knock up rules for.

Feeling a bit tired of painting up my Celts/Ancient British, and being unable to start painting my Napoleonic British Hussars I decided to do something totally different tonight. After I finished lunch I sat down in my hobby room and assembled a 7lb field gun for my Anglo-Zulu War British. :D

Today, I got my trolls all stowed away in my Bfoam bag. This was actually my main incentive to assembling them all, as they were all kinda sitting loose in bits, and now it'll be much easier to transport then when we move house in a few months. I was pleased to see that after putting all my cryx and all my trolls in the bag I still have a fair bit of space for small, medium and large based future purchases. All hail battlefoam :D

Now, after an extended period of just assembling stuff, I have to decide what I'm going to actually paint.

A) Craftworld Eldar - aspect warriors and wraith things
B) Corsair Eldar - lots of pirates and vehicles. Will entail a lot of conversion work.
C) Dark Eldar - spikes n stuff
D) Nurgle marines - HQ, mostly, plus a few plague ogryns
E) Malifaux Ramos Crew - lots of cogspiders
F) Malifaux Collete Crew - lots of dancing girls
G) Trolls - lots of em
H) Cryx - zombs, witches and jacks
I) Battle for Alabaster - hi tech marines and alien gribblies. Huge amount of minis.
J) Non game-related painty project involving one of my numerous "oooh - shiny!" impulse buys.

What to do, what to do...

After a couple of abortive attempts to get my Visa sorted out, I went down to immigration today and got all my paperwork handed in to get my spouse visa. I then went down to the information center to pick up the paperwork for my permanent residency application. The staff asked what type of visa I had and I explained that I had just applied to change from work to spouse. She asked how long I had been in Japan for and when I told her she asked why I had changed my visa????? She then told me that I need a working visa for 10 years OR a 3-year spouse visa followed by living in Japan on said visa for a minimum of one year before I could apply for permanent residency! This means that changing my visa has actually ADDED to the time I have to wait by a couple of months, assuming that they give me a 3 year visa to begin with.

This is all completely at odds with what I was told the last time I was there, which was that I could apply for the permanent residency on the day my spouse visa was granted.

As you might assume I am incredibly angry that I have wasted my time, my wife's time and my money applying for a form that will actually make it more difficult to get the permanent visa.

That's the first I've ever heard about needing to have lived on the spouse visa for a full year before application for PermaRes. As it stands, you've been told 2 things by 2 people. How do we know that person 2 is correct and person 1 is wrong? I think it would be worth your while to apply for permaRes anyway, and just see what comes of it. It takes months to process. At the very least, ask your wife to check the immigration website in Japanese and see if that supports either set of requirements, and maybe even call the immig department a couple of times to see what they say. They're notorious for contradicting themselves. My wife called them 3 or 4 times and was given 3 or 4 different lists of documents to bring. In the end, we went with what was written on the website, and enclosed a copy of the webpage with the application just in case there was any doubt where we had gotten the list from. People are fallible and contradictory. The web never lies... :?
