That the Dr Stephen Turnbull hardcover book or the Osprey one? (or another entirely!)

Glued the legs on my soul grinder and got some off his armor painted up and bone things as well. He is getting there. Got to work on three tau guard posts. Look decent enough for my tau allies should they ever arrive. Yet another store in the states is having ikeda San like trouble. More Fist shaking at GW. Got to work on two imperial bunkers that are looking really nice. I have gone into overdrive to produce some very lightweight terrain to travel to any events and games. I shall ne'er be without places to snap shoot from again! And picked up three barracks that separate for easy storage and carrying as well. Printed up some nice imperial stain glass windows for them and based them minutes ago while melting on the balcony. I dare say gaming in Nagoya is out until October when it cools off. Or I'm somehow packing a small fan from my bathroom and bringing it! And finally I tried and have given up trying to put together these building templates I printed out and put on too thick foam card. Time to give in and pry them off to put on something thinner and easier to cut out.
The one, the only.

Haven't done any mini related stuff all week. Too hot, as we're all aware, no doubt. I did finish Miracle Day, though, which is highly recommended for anyone who likes their SF character driven and well written. It's a shame it looks like there won't be any more torchwood :( (or so claims the Internet, anyhoo)

One thing I did learn this past week. Word to the wise: resin comes in two parts. One part is fine if you leave the top off the can for a week in 35+degree heat. The other part...not so much. It kinda...crystageales, for want of a better word. T'aint pretty, anyway. Fortunately, it was just the tail end of a can I lost anyway, but I thought I would share the learning experience. Keep lids on yer resin. :)

I'm on holiday in Nagano at the moment. Today I climbed a mountain. Well, not a whole one, but part of one. In terms of my usual mountain climbing ratio it's a definite increase. I also tried out a golf driving range, I really can't see what the fuss is about that sport. I was able to get through the Armies of Japan for Bolt Action and most of an Osprey book on the AZW. Finally, this evening I was able to take the mold lines off some minis I brought with me on my trip. Not a bad days work at all.

Today I stood for 7 hours watching kids make kakigori and making sure nobody lost any fingers. It was hot and boring. When I got home, I discovered that the resin I bought from amazon, which I had thought to be identical to my previous resin, is, in fact, the version that looks identical but in fact cures 3 times faster. This is, probably, going to be a hell of an issue. Who the bell uses resin that sets in 2minutes? Pour, measure, mix, oh look, it's set. Haven't put it in a mould yet.

Hum. We shall see tomorrow...

Humid. Thank god I took my toilet fan with me to the Yokkaichi gaming club today. I got my chaos land raider mostly painted up for the game today and it came through like a champ. I was able to get in two games of my chaos vs orks and DA vs tyranids. I was pretty happy that both my armies fit in my foam and boxes for transit.

The warlord Daemon prince El' Corvath felt impact of the space rock on his world. Reports trikled in of the green skinned menace that spilled forth from the meteoric transport. Lightning fast raids by biker gangs of nobz finally roused the Fallen to war. Marching forth with his lieutenant daemon prince by his side, the chaos army met the orks on the field of ruins. 2 large biker gangs of nobz with painboyz roared over the crest with a trukk full of cyborg orks keeping pace. El'Cortvath gave the word, they were to be scoured from his world. The daemon princes screams pierced the intruders puny minds over and over sending them catapulting from their seats to be run over or left behind. The battle cannon of Scorpius the defiler let out a deafening roar echoed by the explosion of the trukk becoming a burning wreck. It's contents jumped from the wreckage only to be swallowed by blue flames from incoming plasma cannon shots released by the Obliteraters overlooking the battlefield from a ruined bastion. Fire from the land raider finished off the orks as its assault ramp slammed down. The terminators of lucifer squad strode forth to receive the charging nobz bikes. Perturbus, a helbrute of enormous size, leapt over the aegis line to not be outdone in the eyes of their dark gods. The nobz fled in the ensuing carnage only to slam into a rampaging daemon prince that spelled their doom. The entire army unleashed their combined fire on the remaining nobz bikers with their warlord. This left only the war boss to contemplate the will of gork and mork in bringing him here to his doom as the sound of wings closed in on him and the bark of weapons brought darkness. All was as it should be. VP 11-0

Second game was a blast. Tons of nids swarming up the field. Got screwed by rolling the scouring again and all the high point objectives ended up in a giant bug infested horde. They sat on them and I dropped in my drop pod with command squad and my son Kael (Lysander) accompanied by myself (Belial) with a deathwing terminator squad to try to crack it open. Some well placed vindicator and whirlwind shots thinned the horde and my quad cannon efficiently took out genestealers. Epic game that came down the swarm lord facing off with my son Kael and a flying hive tyrant taking on me. I showed the hive tyrant not to mess with the vanguard chapter but the true battle was with the swarm lord. Man, that is one tough son of a gun. Slew most of my terminators like a hot knife through butter and at the very last moment, Kael landed a wound and got the swarm lord down to initiative 1 allowing them to simultaneously strike and kill each other. Luckily an apothecary was nearby and was able to heal my son. The swarm lord would not be so lucky with my sword in its skull. VP 10-3 *note to self. Swarmlord is to only be shot on site.

And picked up a broadside battlesuit to complete my tau allies. On a side note. Saw a game of apocalypse and the new book. Very nice book but completely not into the kaboom, good bye whole unit you took tons of time to paint and so on. also not really into the take anything you want from any army and attack! But I did get to see and cool eldar on eldar battle that climaxed with two wraithknights duking it out and k'o-ing each other, lol.

What a great day! Pouring rain outside, lots of fun gaming inside.

Today I started doing the bases for my Celts. 30 40mmx40mm infantry bases plus a chariot and a command base. All the sand is glued down now, but they still need painting and flocking. I also started building the next wave of Celts. I now have enough Celts and Romans to play Hail Caesar at a basic level. :D Yay!
