He spent literally all day studying economic news, comparing reports and trying to guess what would happen next. When he was successful he was very happy. When he was unsuccessful then he usually left things until the currency recovered, which could take years in some cases.

The Yen/Pound rate is a tricky one. It's currently pretty good compared to what it used to be a year ago, but it is still way lower than it was seven or eight years ago.

I came here in 1999 - 165 yen to the pound.
My parents came here in 2001 - 252 yen to the pound.
2012 - 113 yen at the lowest.

I think it will go up to around 160ish again.

I have GBP in my J-bank account (they'll hold various currencies). When I convert those pounds to yen, they'll convert at whatever the current base rate is, minus 0.4 yen per pound for the bank's take. Thus, every time the exchange rate fluctuates, the yen value of my money fluctuates. I'm using sbiNetBank because they had the best rates I could find, but it's still a form of forex. Forex.com is just a website - lots of different places allow you to buy/sell currency.

Anyway, it's all so terribly stressful. I'd be reading up on all the info I could, if only I knew where to get it. Something tells me I ain't gonna learne enough to be useful in a week or so. Strikes me as a lifelong learning curve :(

I reckon there is only one guaranteed way to make money on the forex. Having the luxury of time.

Yup - time which I don't have. I'm not really terribly interested on making money on forex, per se, just in getting a decent rate for the pounds which my dad has sent over.

Yep. It's a bugger if you have a deadline.

Hope you get a decent rate of exchange mate.

Well, today I didn't do forex stuff cos, well, it's the weekend, and trading is closed. I have decided to change the money over come Monday morning, assuming a not-completely-hellacious rate. As long as I can manage 150yen to he quid after charges I'll be reasonably happy.

Today I pressed on with my corsair construction, despite my moulds playing silly buggers and refusing to produce a single viable piece all day. I have now constructed 5 corsairs, complete with fancy guns and jet packs etc, as well as a prototype jetbike Mk 2. Pictures to follow tomorrow, hopefully :)

On the one hand:

Ooh! Bravo sir, bravo. That is a paint job of much shininess and no mistake. Actually, I think that may be the best thing I've seen you paint. The airbrush work is very clean - no speckles I can see, and lines are very crisp. The main body colour is also effective, although if I had one crit it'd be that the green is just a wee bit too strong. Other than that, though, very much loveliness.

On the other hand:

Boooooooo! A WraithKnight! Bow down to the corporate manipulators! I had higher expectations of you, pikester. Those things are the spawn of the devil, and are such an offensive exercise in milking cash out of the teenage punter I would have expected you to say "pfah! I shall not be so easily manipulated!" But nae, you have clearly fallen prey to their machinations. Shame, shame on you Pikey, I say :(

I had better take a look at that new Codex so I figure out how to kill that thing.
So what does the limp, squiggly, little pale glyph dangling between it's legs mean? "This is the Wraithknight formerly known as Prince"?
Nice paint job. You have mastered every shade, tint and nuance of purple, for all practical intents and purposes you are the prince of purple sir.

The glyph means "Saim Hann". Oddly, the one on his knee means "howling banshee". Maybe that's the noise people make when he hits em with it?
