Today headed to Tokyo with my wife for a rare 3 day long weekend. We ate a curry (not up to UK standards sadly) and headed to Jimbochou. I don't know Tokyo particularly well but I always like to have a mooch around there if possible, not so much for the insanely priced GW store but the nearby Shosen bookstore. The third floor has a great selection of boardgames and rpg stuff that's superior to any Yellow Sub store I have been to. I was surprised and pleased to see a shedload of Bolt Action stuff covering all the ranges- a bit pointless buying it there because the prices were inflated by a little or a lot (4800 yen for a panzer iv, pegasus bridge set 31500 yen) but good to see such a strong representation. No other Warlord though. I am now ensconced in a business hotel watching trash TV, the dubious pleasures of Disneyland await tomorrow, but I'm sure that it will wrest some fun from this cynic. Let's Haunted Mansion!

Konrad wrote:@Yellowstreak Most excellent! I always thought Mentor Legion was cool too. Which edition of Hulk are your tiles?
I have not been painting much of anything. Been playing some Final Liberation. Been watching the old Jeremy Brett "Sherlock Holmes" shows. Been scribbling notes for a set of 1 stat skirmish rules.
Thanks mate. They are original edition - I have all the Space Hulk, Genestealer and Deathwing tiles and bits.

I have the White Dwarf that introduced the Mentor Legion (#98) here on my shelf. It's the only WD I kept from the old days!

The box also has some various 40K data sheets and a 'how to play 40K' leaflet from an ancient edition.
So many games, so little time....

slept all morning and enjoyed actually having three days off in a row. then worked a bit on a 'jack. Other than that, Crusader Kings II has had me busy with fratricide and all sorts of other conspiricies.

Played 7 games of Judge Dredd at Mongoose's campaign day and watched The Day of the Doctor. A day well-spent.

The Doctor Who 50th was ace. Did you watch Adventures in Time and Space? How about The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot? If not, I recommend both.

How does the JD game play? Good rules?

past few days have been headless-chicken-o-rama. School term tests start on friday, the kids both have a cold, I'm off to tokyo tomorrow (and boy am I ever going to akihabara on friday. I did a search for "hobby shops in tokyo". Wheeee! :D :D :D :D Compare that to "hobby shops in Tsu" :? :? :? :? ) and I have the JPLT on sunday. yeesh.

I did manage to construct one evil daemonic claw bustin' out of a defiler leg. Its not a lot, but its progress, and thats what counts.

My wife went to Hawaii with a couple of her college friends for a few days, leaving me to fend for myself.... PARTY TIME!!!! :D

Today I attempted to ride to Korankei, but I left far too late and felt it was too late when I arrived in Toyota city, so I turned around and dropped by Joshin to pick up some orchird trees. (Seeing all the persimmon made me want to make scenery.)

I just finished kaki-frai, sashimi and nattou with a movie. A so good to have what I want. :D (But I miss the wifey already.)

Getting there, the commander looks nice. Anyone know a good mat finishing coat for protection?
