I just saw a site was having prizes for completely painted armies done in 2013 but just missed entering. This year I completely painted, oh I don't even want to make a list, 4, 3500pt plus armies. It would be 4000+ but goddamn shipping won't get it done by Xmas. So far my marines are completed this year and are 4500pts, just finished another land raider last week, my Eldar are 3000-4000, finishing off three tanks this weekend, my tau are 3000-4000, just finished my sunshark bomber and my chaos/daemon army is 4000+ with my Khorne berserkers finished today. I am completely painted out. But very happy that it is done and I can focus on other things and just game now. There are a few more models to trickle in but they'll get done on Xmas holidays and my paint brushes will go into hibernation. I've promised my girl I'll be somewhat speaking Portuguese by spring and I want to get back at my 40k card game for my students (they have been bugging me that I told them months ago it would be ready, blast kids and their memories). While I am sure many members out there have vast armies that dwarf all mine combined (I've seen some pics), I am very happy with how this years painting and designs have turned out. I can have friends over for games and they have a selection of armies to choose from and design multiple ways which is what my goal was from the beginning.
I am running an event in January ( Hammercide 2) in conjunction with the local gaming club. The local gw store is putting up prizes along with myself (the best prize being a set of custom made warlord trait cards for winning armies). Should be fun.

Thats an impressive accomplishment. A few big armies gives you lots of choices for gaming.

Feel free to post up your event details in the event area of the forum once you get the date and venue sorted out.

Went against Job today in 40k. My demons were smashed by the Nightlords pretty soundly though I can say a lot of it was me not remembering any of my special rules (fleet+3 and +6 hello!!!!!!). Twas an interesting game.

Also gave him a demo of battletech. Blew his catapult up quite nicely though my grand dragon was looking really the worse for wear.

@ Voss: Well, I believe the Night Lords got their fair end of the bargain. You brought down the Night Lord demon prince (with an epic duel between the princes) and came within an ace of having the great wrath of Khrone wrecking the Defiler (except a lucky 5+ invulnerable save). Well, after that game I'm starting to feel I have a very general idea of how 6th ed. works. :)

And BT was fun and rathe easy to pick up.

I ate tons of crab and salmon roe from Hokkaido with the in-laws. A fantastic feast.

This weekend so far I have:
Watched the Wolverine movie, which was pretty good. I watched it with a beer and a bar of chocolate from about 12 to 2 am. I enjoyed it. Better than Wolverine Origins, not as good as X men First Class, and a million times better than Xmen 3. I was peeved to realise that there were no English subs for all the Japanese dialogue, then quite chuffed when it dawned on me that I didnt need em. Ha! Up yours, JLPT!
Watched about half an hour of Titanic. Meh, it was on telly and the missus was watching it. Probably the moviest movie of all time.
Watched about half an hour of The Avengers. I reckon it could stand a full re-watching.
Played quite a bit of Starcraft 2. I was lucky enough to get the Zerg campaign half price on Black Friday. Just gotta make my way through the Terran ones, first so I can get back to the Zerg groove I had going on in SC1.
Juuust about finished my first Nova Marine chappy. What say you all to the canister on his back and the lights on his gun. Blue, Orange or Turquoise? Or none of the above?

Oh, and I believe that flu jab I got on Thursday is now kicking in. I have a runny nose and defo have a fever. Feeling quite squibbly, actually :( Hopefully it'll all wear off soon and I'll be back to normal by tomorrow. I'm usually fine with flu immunisations, but occasionally one of em takes me funny and I come over all wierd for a day or so. Ah well. Should probly go to bed now...

@M_i_J - Did you watch Wolverine past the credits?
As an X-Men fan, the upcoming Days of Future Past movie is number 1 on my To Watch list next year.

Oh yes.

Not to keen on how they have done the sentinels though. Hopefully they look better on the big screen.

Tyrion Lannister is the bad guy, that alone is worth watching it for.

Umm the Sentinals were like really tall, right? Not to be insensitive but Peter Dinklege is umm... Not as tall as the cartoon Sentinals. :?

Still I hope they can recapture some of the fun of the original x-men.

He's the guy who designs the Sentinels. They're probably going to use cgi for the robots themselves.
Mind you, a 5 storey tall Peter Dinklege would be fun too.
