Back from the in-laws. All on my lonesome so was able to put in some hobby time, although cant face dragging out the paints just yet. Assembled and am still assembling and spraying mdf terrain that I bought with a view to using for sci-fi and near future in the er, near future.
Watching lot of old Prime Suspect crime dramas on itunes at the moment, still bloody good telly. I may revisit Cracker, starring Hagrid, next.
Film wise decided to give World War Z a chance and rented that. Not too impressed, it just falls a bit flat really in my book, was expecting something new but the zombie genre has been worked from every angle and the film confirms that the end of the road has been reached. Rewatched Last of the Mohicans which was time much better spent, a cracking movie and a period begging to be gamed. Had to pause it during the viewing as the compulsion to go online and research gaming options for the French Indian War period had kicked in. Muskets and Tomohawks looks like a belter. No, I didn't buy it. One thing at a time.

You probably don't need to look at this, then!

Oh, Perry Brothers, is there any historical period you won't make models for?

Edit to add: Huh. American War for Independence, apparently. That's an odd gap.

Those models are by Warlord who purchased the rights to the range from Conquest games.

These are Perry Minis:

Hum! For some reason I'd thought Perry did a lot of the Warlord line. Color my face red! (Not literally, please.)

I worked on the FoW French infantry and artillery, painting the rifle stocks, webbing, cartridge boxes and gun barrels.

Went to the immigration office with my wife who returned from Fukui for the day, for the last irritating stage of getting my marriage visa sorted. In the event she didn't really need to be in attendance despite them requesting it, but there you go. It was nice to spend time with her as we won't be in each others company much over the next few months. Since I was married a year ago, I ought to have done it sooner. Still, now it's sorted and will come in extremely handy for my job searching (current teaching gig finishes mid-Feb, I'd be grateful for any news of opportunities in the Nagoya area by the way!)
Gaming related wise, finished building some warmill sci-fi terrain (quite impressed) and added basic colour to it, weathering it and making it look like it isn't just mdf sprayed matt will be the next challenge.
Also ordered a couple of Ospreys relating to the French Indian War. I'd really like to study up a little about it.
I know FIW is covered in the Last Argument of Kings supplement for BP, but I'm curious as to how much detail it'll have on it. Don't suppose any of you have it and know the answer? :?:
