That's two bases of line infantry done. On the block now is a unit of hovertanks and their transport for DZC, and a single space marine for ASC. (They'll have broadly similar paint schemes, oddly enough, which is why I'm doing them all simultaneous-like.)

Thanks Ash
If anything the experienced has galvinised me to do more in my free time, more determined not to chuck my gaming hobby in, do as much as possible. Looking forward to playing with him in a few years down the line.

Absolutely. Biggest mistake I made was ditching my hobby when I needed it most. And it needed me dammit!
Made a ton of you tube videos and podcasts though so it wasn't all bad.

Welp.

Metallics plus inks makes for a quick little paint job, looks like. Just have to do the shiny spots on the eye thingies and they'll be done.

@ToD - oooooh shiney. Getawayfrommewithyourtemptation! bad Dave. Bad!
@Spev - nice pic! You should put that there talent to use and start doing some old-school freehand on your banners. Or actually have banners, for that matter.
@Lovejoy - aaaaw. Enjoy that whole "sleeping peacefully" thing while it lasts. Because it wont. Last, I mean. And you're absolutely right about getting in as much painting in the first few weeks while you can. i got about as much done in the first few months of sean's life as I have done...well, since then, basically. He'll be two next month
Actually, I dunno if folks had a similar experience, but i found that in the first couple of months of new baby I actually had more free time than previously, because not only was i unable to do anything much for the wean, but my wife was knackered the whole time and went to bed early, leaving me and Skyrim to while away the wee hours. Of course after that it all went downhill. Now I really, really cherish those precious one-hour windows when both kids are asleep and I can actually turn on the PC without some small-boy-shaped lightning bolt darting across the room and smearing jam all over the screen
I am fortunate in that I have a separate room for my painty stuff. With a lock on the door. One of the perks of designing one's own house...

@ ToD: I thought we were going to avoid making this into a baby photo page.
looks awesome I'll break out my marines tomorrow or tonight.
@ MiJ: Doooo it! The minis are only 10mm. It will hardly take you any time!
Today I finished work and ended up chatting with Voss. Tonight I'm going to break out the DSC stuff.
