I took stock of my bits box and discovered that, with the addition of ten or so plastic land raiders, which tend to be dirt cheap on eBay, I could make a viable 3000-point Black Templars force entirely with unpainted miniatures I have kicking around. I guess I know what the giveaway army will be for the Epic event after next...

(Must... resist... buying... land raiders on eBay...)

Also started work on a couple bases of Light Dragoons.

I'm not a huge fan of Dread as I was reading 2000 AD just before it ended so I'm not familiar with the world. Wasn't Sly Stone involved somewhere? Dredd teh comic was ace, in the same kind of way that RT 40k was ace. It was kinda daft, but always gritty, and the good guys werent very good at all, while the bad guys were so madly bad that you kinda found yourself rooting for them. If the Stalone movie is the only Dredd you've ever encountered, you're missing out. At the very least try to see the new Dredd movie with that chap that played Eomer from LotR. It captures the feel of Dredd much better, altho its not the comic by a long shot.

Today, btw, I painted the carapaces and guns, and gave the whole shebang a once (or twice) over with some tamiya smoke, because there's nothing that doesnt look better with a bit of tamiya smoke added.

That must've been a US spin-off; 2000AD began in the late 70s and is still running - with Dredd appearing in the 2nd issue and featuring ever since. Notably, it avoids comic book time; the setting and Dredd are nearly forty years older than when it first appeared.

My Viktorias Crew for Malifaux. (The model at the back has a bad case of googly-eye that will need fixing).

Some WW2 Partisans and a German Mortar team.

Some Reaper minis. Two Orcs, a Hydra, a Barbarian and a Ranger.

As for me, I bit the bullet and spent my valuable hobby time this evening attempting to design my own eldar glyphs in GIMP. Failed dismally. Yon graphic design malarky is harder'n it looks Fortunately, we have an internet replete with shinies for me to pilfer, so tomorrow I intend to cannibalise other people's art for spare parts and build my glyphs that way
