What did you do today.
Re: What did you do today.
@ Miguel, Spevna: Lookin' good gents. Keep at the paint brushes.
Friendly reminder, just a little over a month left to NagHam!
Today I just worked on preparing for tomorrow. I did glue together some fence rails.

Today I managed to finish 2 more minis save for the base and advanced another squad a step towards completion. If I did my math right I'm ready for 1500pts... 2000pts would need 20-30 more figures painted

Re: What did you do today.
Hi guys, how's it going. I couldn't sleep so I thought I'd check in with Mother. I've been busy with family and work so not a huge amount of time for gaming and zero for painting sadly. I have got a new light installed so technically I could get some done after hours but it's such a hassle with everything in the cupboard.
Anyway, hobby wise we took our son to a plarail event that was run by collectors. They had some rare trains they had kept from their childhood and are still collecting now in their 30's, 40's and 50's. Made me happy I didn't ditch or sell my wargaming stuff. This circles philosophy was to remember the play we enjoyed as children.

I thought it would be great if in time we could have more of a family atmosphere with our games circles, get our kids or younger players involved in the hobby as well as encourage new players a bit more. Make it a bit more I don't know, user friendly maybe. Just a thought.
In other news I've been inspired by this fantastic toy restoration channel on you tube called Retroblasting. Here's some old Asterix and Dogtanion figures I kept which I'm hoping to touch up with a bit of paint.

So as you can see, not a lot of time to get the minis out but never mind. Trying to focus on saving my marriage mainly and my general well being. Keeping busy and a healthy mind and body etc.
So what could I blow my money on instead of unpainted minis?
Well I went a bit mad on e bay and have invested in a few A Team items. This turned up the other day and the van is on it's way. Haha

Happy days. Yes, I'm a toy collector now, as sad as that may sound, I'm actually quite having fun with it. I've bought a few items, some to keep and some to sell on.
Cheers all, hope you liked my post, have a better one and see you on the Friday of Nagoyahammer. I'll bring some Ultraviolence to the party.

Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

To be honest I'm already formulating ideas for toys for Louis. He's a long, long way off, but still. I can also see myself trying out some super simple rules like Konrad's been working up in the years to come to use with Playmobil or whatever. If he shows interest in minis, there are some companies that make woodland creatures in the Redwall vein, who knows?
Initially i'm going to start him on Duplo, get him on Lego, maybe Brickwars down the line.

Ah, Redwall was awesome, even if it all started to annoy me that the stoats and weasels were so inanely incompetent.
Personally, my big toy thing was Legos and it still is. While I will do my best to avoid watching the Lego movies and not play the computer games, I still feel a deep urge to play with lego sets. During New Year's, I bought a Duplex set for my nephew, and the funnest thing was to big into the blocks with him. It was a lot of fun.
And at home, my Lego sets, three pirate ships, still remain on the top shelf...
Ah, all that precious joy and nostalgia locked up in plastic.
And, train sets... that is just fun to watch and so tempting to get into. (Still, it is an awful huge investment of space!)

I got into 4OK, because it was like a combination of my first addiction, LEGOs with my second , D&D! I have a big, big drawer full of them for...uh...the kids.....

Today, after Joshin, I based, primed and started painting my German flamethrower team thanks to Prim giving some bases for them.
