@Spevna, shanty town is looking terrific. It did before, but more terrain always great. I look forward to arresting some hapless creeps on it in future...

@j-h Nothing says "badass" like a baseball bat with a nail in it. Though I'm not a fan of blood on my figures. Less is more, as they say.

I got some productive pimping on the Diggawagon done. Got the undercarriage finished and the driver/gunner seats half done. Cobbled together a groovy, pokey staff for the Shaman and sculpted a fairly nice left foot. We'll see how the right turns out this weekend.
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

I managed an hour or so on a unit of Celts last night and started painting the tracks on my Sherman.

This evening I spent an hour and a bloody half looking, nay, searching for my drill bits. Still canny find em. I swear, I have scoured the entire surface of my desk, but to no avail. Eeeeeverything has ground to a halt. Hornets need assembling, corsairs need detaching from tabs and pinning to bases. Neither of these things can proceed without drill bits.

Most vexing

@M_i_J - It sounds like you have a 'bit' of a problem!
Sorry. That was awful, wasn't it.

I've had the same thing happen before so many times, tools just seem to disappear at random. Good luck in your search.

Yesterday I didn't do any hobby stuff at all. Tonight I hope to do some painting on my Sherman.

I remembered where I put my drill bits! W00t!!!!!! :D :D :D :D

I was browsing amazon to buy replacements when I saw a picture and my brain did that kinda that-then-this-then-i-musta-put-them.....aha! thing. So pleased that my brain is not the steaming pile of useless I suspected it had become.

This evening, MiJ is happy :D

ps in case you were wondering, they were in the bitz box with the dark eldar legs.

obviously.

this evening I pinned and assembled my hornets, and also undercoated them and the cap'n. I do rather like my corsair captain. One of my better conversions, if I do say so myself.

Today, I managed to do nothing modeling-wise, but I did play a game of 40k with Justin afterwork. It was just a 750 point game to work on the rules, and we spent some time on a few rule inquiries. It might have not been noteworthy except there were a few rather spectacular events.

First, the sister reserves rolled up and caught the CSM lord without enough bodies between him and the meltas. Kill the Warlord to the sisters!

I slew the sisters sergeant. This triggered a gift of Chaos.

My biker champion became a daemon prince!

This was followed by the penitent machine being blown apart and killing four sisters.

The game went back a forth, with daemon prince getting torched by the penitent machines and sisters. Later the Seraphim roasted and cut down a squad of chaos space marines.

But, the bikers went on a rampage, riding down the seraphim in a house and then helping to shoot down the Canoness and battle sisters holding on to the objective.

With a string of luck killing the CSM were about to win a 5-1 victory...

When the Night Lord objective mysterious objective turned out to be a bomb that promptly went off just before the game ended on the 6th turn! This killed 3 cultists and sent the rest fleeing!

It ended in a 2-1 in favor of the CSM. It was a lot of fun.

What I learned:
• Beware of flamers. Their defensive fire is very daunting.
• Beware of flankers. Keep enough bodies about a CSM lord at all times on all sides!
• 40k is a very random and chancy game at times. There were daemonic elevations, missed charges, armor saves that went both ways, mysterious objective markers providing benefits or suddenly exploding and scattering units holding them!
