But then I just watched the 4th sequel, Starship Troopers Invasion. This is completely in CG and directed by the guy who did Appleseed. I finally felt satisfied after watching this one and I recommend it if you like starship troopers, check it!

You totally missed an opportunity there. That post should have ended with:

Watched "Skyfall" last night. Heartily enjoyed it. Daniel Craig is now really starting to feel like "Bond". The villian was fun, the evil scheme so totally, complex and headscratchingly "huh" you just have to give up, roll with it and enjoy the explosions. That's the standard practice for viewing Bond, so not a demerit. Awesome train-top fight and casino scene.

I skipped Quantum of Solace (looked too much like Jason Bourne, not enough like Bond), but Skyfall looks excellent. I'm really looking forward to it.

And then, of course, there's the Hobbit in a week's time. Two movies in one month — that's as many as I usually see in a year.

Gravity is the best Sci-fi since Alien I reckon. It's up there with 2001 and Star Wars. It's as good as Ghostbusters. I give it 11/10.
Science fiction is a fiction which uses science, current or futuristic, to tell a story that may or may not be possible. This film has confirmed my definition of what sci-fi is. No monsters or fantasy Tardis needed. Please see Gravity and the true horror of 'in space no one can hear you scream' if you haven't already. Worth seeing on the big screen.

Yesterday I dropped some camomile tea and watched Logan's Run. It's still, without meaning to be, one of the most trippy Sci-Fi disutopias I've seen. Terrible soundtrack and lots of model futuristic landscapes of the city. Recommended if you haven't watched it in a while.

Read this the other day, and once the shock and horror that I also am one of history's most average monsters wore off, I recalled I have not seen #3 yet.
Great, great acting. Alfred's "I never wanted you to come back to Gotham." was probably my favorite part of the whole show. And Gary Oldman's Gordon is just awesome. Solid bad guy in Bane, had some great lines. Weak , weak story, even for a superhero show. Though I am ashamed to admit I did not see the gotcha towards the end coming. Duh..... Another weak point was there was this guy with pointy ears getting beat up all the time. I found that a little distracting.
Was it just me, or was Christian Bale borrowing Michael Keaton's amazing, unbendable Bat-mask?

By coincidence, I was watching the DK last weekend. Ledger's joker is superb. I mean, I know it's been said by most everybody already, but it bears repeating. For such an OTT character to come across as believable is quite some achievement. DK rising is on the cards for this weekend. I saw it in the theatre, but it's been long enough now for a re-watch, I reckon.

No argument, DK was the best of the 3. Ledger's Joker scared me as much as Hannibal Lecter. When I say the Joker never made me laugh, I mean it as the highest compliment. (Well I did smile for a second when he showed up in Dent's room in the nurse's outfit, but not for long.)
That Batman mini game from Knight models (I think) looks like fun. Excellent looking sculpts. I just don't have time to make the terrain to do it justice. That and the money to buy the toys in the first place. Alas.....
You all see the animated version of Frank Miller's "Dark Knight Returns"? Oh man. Just spot on and as good as the comic.

Is Batman in Japan now?
I'd like to recommend Primer for fans of time travel. It's clever but you need to see it a few times.
Back to the future does it just as well though and is funnier.
