@ Other Dave, Regarding Primer: yep I've only seen it once and I haven't a clue what went on. Apparently watching the neck ties is worth while to keep track of things.

The Thing from another world is also worth checking out. The 50s original.

And the earphones. I still haven't seen his second movie, Upstream Color, although I am led to understand that it's very very weird.
Feel free to call me Dave!

Nice choice Ash. I ended watching some of it myself with a beer and kaki no tane. It really gets me in the mood for Market Garden action. Want to do some FoW sometime? I've got Germans, the 82nd and British Shermans.

Sure thing. I got about a third of the way through myself.
It's difficult to watch that film in one setting. I'll finish it tonight.
Flames of war. Yes great. Gives me an excuse to finish all my unpainted machine gun units :)

Exactly the same spot I got sleepy and ran dry on beer. :D Also coincidently the moment I got sick of kaki no tane and Model decides he must be the target of 30,000 allied airborne troops.

Otherwise I'll get to repainting up those British tanks.

This has got to be one of the more impressive collections of shermans and other World War II era equipment all coordinated into one scene (although the aircraft are not actually period correct). https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... mtk#t=3372

I'm totally psyched about doing some MG scenario! :D 60th anniversary in September!

Last night I watched a made for TV film called Cast a Deadly Spell. It was terrible but fairly easy going, Lovecraft is an investigator in the 40s where magic is commonplace. It's an old HBO. Also found some good stuff on you tube, a fairly recent seminar with Stephen King talking to a group of writing students and something on the graphic comic artist Moebius, the guy who designed 5th Element. Here are the links.
Actually this should be in the film thread. Copy and paste. Done.

Stephen King on Twilight, writing and Lovecraft https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8TkQvdJVbc
In search of Moebius https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNas99o ... WL&index=1

I'm working up to the what did you do today thread by posting here in hope it will motivate me to pick up a brush. :)

Wow, well spotted. HBO plus Lovecraft, how can you go wrong? I'll give it a whirl later.

Quite a few horror gems on youtube. Some fun Hammer and Amicus stuff if you scramble around.

Speaking of which, this is fun:

And Suspiria (not a Hammer) is a bit of a classic. Great soundtrack, apparently CoC rpg creator Sandy Petersons' favourite horror flick. I enjoyed it.
