Copplestone has a pretty extensive 10mm fantasy line, all of which is very clearly Lord of the Rings stuff, although obviously they can't call it that. The Rohanians are "Horse Tribe Cavalry," f'rexample. Tempting to pick up some Ringwraiths or something - it'd be more tempting if Copplestone's "10mm" wasn't about 50% larger than GW's "10mm", though.

GW's are actually Heroic 6mm scale. :D
One of the biggest problems with buying from multiple sources is that despite the names, everyone sculpts the same scales slightly differently.
I guess if you don't mix the mini type (e.g. all GW infantry, all Copplestone cavalry), you may be able to get away with it. It works for my 28mm WW2 Warlord infantry and 1/48 Tamiya tanks.

True enough. But actually just having the Copplestone cavalry near a unit of GW infantry it's pretty noticeable. Not that it matters *too* much at the scale, of course.

Edit to add photo:

...yeah. (Of course, when you figure that one base worth is "really" representing a few hundred times more dudes than are actually on it, you can sort of look at them as abstract counters and stop worrying about it.)

Up at the crack of dawn again today, but I managed to grab some time behind a brush this afternoon. Continued working on a tank for my IG and did a bit on a unit of Ashigaru and on some Natal Native Contingent for the AZW.

Off to the bank tomorrow for a meeting with a lawyer, the loan consultant and the real estate agent to buy some land. Busy, busy, busy....

Too hot yesterday, played some Bioshock burial at sea part 2 in 1998 mode and painted more of my zaku (Dom) Space Marine.

Today I went to a meeting at the bank. My wife was working, but in addition to myself, there were 2 guys selling the land, 3 real estate agents, 1 judicial scrivener, 1 loan saleswoman and 1 guy who sat and shuffled papers, for a total of 9 people. Of those, 8 spoke fluent Japanese and 1 struggles to buy his weekly groceries. :)
I think everything went ok. I left with a note from the bank saying that I was in debt from now until forever and a handful of magic beans....

I'm considering changing the name of the site to KasugaiHammer, but NagoyaHammer is still more catchy I think.

Hah! I remember that meeting. In my case, my wife was there, and so was Sean. At one point my wife and I had to go to the bank desk and wait 5 minutes with the lawyer, who happened to be the only other woman there. While we were waiting, we left Sean (then about 1 1/2) in the care of the remaining half a dozen middle aged Japanese businessmen. Much hilarity ensued :D

Excitement!! Nothing I've yet done has made me feel more (and I don't mean this in a good way) like a grown-up than listening to dudes in suits talk seriously about loan paperwork.

Myself, I did some work on some elves, sorted out some buildings to base up and paint, and started looking wistfully at some of my RPG books.
