Today I spent most of the afternoon making a steak pie. Pay no mind to the humongous knife - that's just for serving it:

Which I enjoyed with this randomly selected Belgian beer:

Turns out that said beer was 8.5%, which was a tad more than expected. Still nice, though :)

Ps - oh, look. We're on page 400 of this thread. Who'd've thought it would go so far?

Pps - on a more hobby oriented note, what say you all to this?

Personally, I quite like him. I'm waiting with bated breath for the Voidraven bomber and Vect on his Dais of Whup. If they're reeeeaaaally good, I might even buy em. Maybe.

That's a nice looking new mini. Obviously GW caught their sculptor on one of his good days. :D

I have that exact same beer sitting in my fridge, waiting to be quaffed.
The pie looks wicked good.
Why for the love of god did you not roast the spuds??????

Alas, time and wife wait for no man. That, and my oven is rather petite, so cooking a pie and roasting spuds simultaneously presents a challenge.

It's the Jamie Oliver Steak and Guinness pie, btw. That's the second time I've done it, and both have been rather oishii. I'd recommend it if you happen to have a kilogram of beef just taking up space in your freezer :D

I have actually been thinking of making a pie for a while now.

I was thinking beef, ale, and potatoes.

Guinness sounds bloody good though.

@MiJ - Ooh, a real honest to goodness pie. I had almost forgotten what they look like. My wife has finally come round to the idea that our glorified microwave is not up to the job of British baking. We are going to spring for a new cooker that can hopefully handle the stuff I've been wanting to scoff. Apple pie is what I've been hankering after.

Finished up one of my two Summer vacation projects today.
Part 2 of my Colonial New Zealand/Malifaux settlement/Cutlass Island/French and Indian War ;) terrain.

Et voila!

The new section. There's a 'swamp' in the background which you can't really see.

The whole set together.

More pix on Thursday after I test it out with Koji.

Wow. That is very, very nice! French Indian War, eh? I would love to play Muskets and Tomohawks on it one day (or BA..or indeed anything at all). Looking forward to more pics when you have them.
