Today was an exercise in frustration, as it turned out that all the masking fluid I had used on my mini had congealed into this kinda indeterminate gel, who's only distinctive property was to bind irredeamably to the paint underneath, resulting in gooey, stringy masses where I tried to remove it, and stripped down to the bare resin streaks where it had bound too strongly. Bloody car wreck of an attempt, tbh, and all I can hope to salvage from it is a whole bunch of areas stripped right down to the resin where I can just start again. Darn it. Razzinfrazzin Vallejo masking crappy fluid rubbish. Poo.

Ps, it's probly worth mentioning that I spent the entire evening tonight clearing this crap off, and got about 1/3 of the way through the areas that need doing. So, yay! I get to do it again tomorrow, and the day after, most likely

@ MiJ: sorry to hear about the set back. Hopefully the rest of the sanding only takes a single day.

Today I worked on some trees with my free time. I also went by Yellow Submarine and saw some discounted IG, so I picked them up knowing I will be ordering from Forge World soon. I'm thinking traitor guard. There's also a discounted Chimera in the store, too. I also managed to cook quiche for dinner tonight and gumbo soup for tomorrow night.

MIJ did you contact valejo? that should not have happened.

Started to put together some BFG ships i had lying around, Not liking the way the small system ships are configured, probably will use wire to attach them to the stem

Thanks for the moral support, chaps. Tbh, I'm not 100% sure it's vallejo's fault. I used the same stuff on some smoothish external areas (think large eldar gem type shape) and it came off mostly ok. It's on the grooves and hard to reach areas that it's giving me issues. Meh, I'll grab a beer and put on some music and have at it this evening. 's nae the end o the world :)

I was able to get in a bit more than average painty time tonight, and managed to scrape out all the crud from my mini. So, tomorrow it'll be onwards and upwards to actual paint-based repairs. I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end...

Got a bit of rustification on the Diggatrak started. Got the whole thing pretty well base-coated and now it will be the washing, drybrushing, washing, drybrushing, detailing.
Read "Batman Year One" -twice- Thanks Underdweller. Don't know why it's taken me 15-odd years to get around to reading that. Most excellent.

Started to put together some battlefleet gothic ships i had for a while

Magnetized the cruiser so i can change the set up of the weapons and made a weapon array as they were missing on the sprue
Didn't like the prow on the system monitor, it is like slapped a imperial prow on a chaos escort, so i made my own and put it on.

magnetized bays, and original prow on the system monitor

Weapons added and different prow on the system monitor

A tough week for me, the first full length week at the new job. Still learning the ropes, but I reckon I'm doing pretty well. I really need to de-stress, but since I have decided to swear off the sauce for a month to recover from xmas/new year excesses and lose weight (which is working), beer cannot aid me until mid Feb. I'll get painting instead.
Maybe I'll have a go at the kleggs - the ones I ordered finally arrived, one month after I first reported to warlord that they'd sent me a box of juddah instead. They assured me they'd sent this box prior to xmas, but hadn't, and needed another chasing up. Still, can't complain as I got to keep the mispack.
Oh, and Louis is one year old tomorrow, so we'll have a small celebration, which his parents will appreciate the significance of far more than he.
Have a good weekend everybody.

Today is D-day, H-hour. The moving company have stripped my apartment bare and are loading the last of my goods as I type. Personally I'm surprised that they could fit my minis into their truck, let alone a fridge, a bed etc.
I'll be leaving the site as NagoyaHammer, as KozojiHammer doesn't have quite the same ring to it.

See you on the beaches everyone.
