Anyway, today I finished my archon, at last:

She's on a WIP base at the mo, but I quite like the flow of things so far.

Ta. The issue with the legs (and neck/chest) is pitting in the metal itself, not the paint. Actually, what you see is the result after a layer of milliput wash. It was pretty darn bad pitting. Anyway, nowt to be downe about it at this point. Too many other things needing painting. Besides, I started replaying skyrim the other day (madness, I know) and so my time is at even more of a premium than usual. Incidentally, I'm totally enjoying revisiting skyrim again. I'm doing it on the PC this time, rather than ps3 as before, and it's soooo much prettier. I'm doing all the stuff I didn't do before, like join the companions and be a werewolf and whatnot. I was a khajiit first time around, and did the whole sneaky thing, whereas this time it's two handed warhammers all the way. Plus, I got all the add on dlc, so there's so much extra stuff it's like a new game. The mini is coming along nicely, but the texture of her legs looks a bit rough. Cellulite maybe?

The table is 6' by 4'6 with enough space for even someone of my stature to mlve around it without needing to squeeze past things. A definite step up from my last place. After reading some online advice, I built the table up to a little over 3' tall, about the height of a kitchen worktop. It's easier on the back and better for standing at for a long time.
