Well, ain't today the day that just kept on giving?

Not only did my harlequins arrive, but my long-awaited JBT kickstarter painty book did, too :)

Sadly, despite the arrival of a book called "light and colour - theory and practice" and 3 boxes of spangleclowns, the colour I spent the evening working on was: grey :(

Darn deadlines :(

Also: fear my to-do pile.* It certainly gives me the heebie-jeebies...

Well, my just-arrived-this-week to-do pile. It's hardly everything I need to do, is it?

Ps: I did not buy the hell turkey. It was an apology from a seller online. Much as I dislike hell turkeys, I was hardly gonna say no, was I? Happily, I've discovered that if one flips the torso over you have good potential for a kinda manta-shaped thingy with a tentacle maw at the front. Defo has potential...

This evening I finished off some minis for a D&D game on Sunday and glued sand down to their bases. Tomorrow I should get the bases painted and maybe flocked a little too. :)
I also sat down and started reading the rulebook for 7TV, which looks like a fun little game.

Me too! Did you get a pdf copy?

Incidentally I heard that the free Doctor Who game Crooked Dice have on their website works in a very similar way and has mechanics that were used in 7TV.

Sorry to hear that. I've had a couple done and it was probably the most painful thing in my life so far. One of the gums opened up after the operation and wouldn't stop bleeding. I had to sit and chew on a teabag to get it to stop. (Tea leaves contain a chemical that causes your veins to contract, thus helping the wound to close).
Thanks for the teabag tip, might come in handy. The bleeding has stopped (touch wood!), just a constant dull ache at the moment....
So many games, so little time....

Sorry to hear about the tooth. At least it's out. I took the whole weekend to recover when mine came out.

I finished my medium gates this afternoon.

Now I need to see if I can get both the gorkamorka models and the DzC things safely into one case.

@Spev and Lovejoy - It looks like a cool game alright. I think the Doctor Who game is like a slightly stripped down version of 7TV. It's one more of those games that I would very much like to try, alongside: Saga, Lion Rampant, In Her Majesty's Name, On the High Seas, A Very British Civil War, Of Gods and Mortals and so on....
... I think I have a problem.

Recently I have had a hankering for some VSF/Pulp style gaming.

I have too many projects to work through before I even consider buying 7TV stuff though.

That's pretty much my list mate.

Quite tempted to do it in 15mm. Save a bit of cash, or get twice the bang for your buck ;)

Maybe, but quite a lot of those games are skirmishy character driven stuff, I dunno if 15s would do it justice. Mind you, I'm not that up on 15mm makers, so maybe there are a few that would be good.

At the moment though I'm looking at things as something to do in the future. I have plenty to be getting on with and no real rush to spend on anything just now except my mortgage. I'll probably just keep reading rule sets for the time being.

There are some pretty tasty 15mm makers out there these days, and the detail has come along in leaps and bounds.

I know what you mean about mortgages mate.
