Well, on that point I stand corrected and am now a wiser man. Tip o the hat to Spev :) Actually, now I think on it they do drive over a fairly massive bridge, but that's on the way out when they're moving the destructo-bomb away from civilised areas. Just a weeee tiny scene where they drive over it on the way in woulda helped :( In fact, editing was really the issue throughout the movie that caused the most issues.

Ah well. I shall go and see mad max soon and feel all better about movies, I daresay :)

Just finished watching the original Mad Max trilogy. Enjoyed the first two a lot and the first half of Thunderdome. Then it's the scene with the lost boys. Aghhh, what happened? Totally forgot about that. Looking forward to seeing the new one. Nearly saw it at the imax last weekend in Tokyo but didn't have enough time. Yokkaichi maybe?
Nice dancing girls MiJ.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

@ash - cheers :)

Today I started and finished a whooooooole mini. Yes sirree, MiJ painted a whole mini in one evening, and as if by magic here it is:

This may come as a surprise to certain pointy-ear haters out there, but this is in actual fact the first time I have ever been called upon to paint multi-coloured spangly star dust :D I love minis that get done in a day.

Ps, if anyone was ever in any doubt, If you're ever after a good metallic silver, look no further than Vallejo Model Air Steel. This is one coat, by regular brush, over a dark brown undercoat (I'd been thinking to do em brass originally.)

I've just finished painting the same miniature twice in two days. I finished it yesterday evening, then totally cocked up the varnish, so I had to strip it down and start again.

@M_i_J - Nice Mechanical Dove. The sparkly bits do look the business.

Yesterday I read Promethean Sun, a Horus Heresy short story, started reading the Iliad by Homer (D'oh!), watched some more of Black Sails and did a tiny bit of panting on my SS troops for Bolt Action.

The Iliad is awesome. Really, the primal, original, base-line of this geekery we are into at the least. All that for the entirety of Western Literature at most. A totally different world. A totally different idea of a "hero". You do have to sort of fast-forward through the detailed record keeping of who's sharpened bronze pierced who's well-wrought shield and sent them to Hades dark hall.
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

The Illiad is awesome. Love it as it was my bed side reading through much of high school and Hektor remains my notion of a hero despite his less admiral occasions of "hektoring" his own comrades. I can never stop wishing that smug and arrogant Brad Pitt, I mean, Achilles gets his comeuppance or that the black ships burn. Long live the memory of Hektor, Lord of Horses!

@ Konrad: I love the stunties. I am glad that in the 41st Millenium dwarves survive even if their mountain holds were blasted to oblivion in the Fantasy world.

@ MiJ: Fine job on the metallics and I really like the touch of varnished wood floors. You nailed it on that.

@ Auxryn: Gobbo those guns!

This last week has been mostly leading the Kingdom of Prussia against the Ogre and the Frenchies. That is after work. I also managed to squeeze in some progress with the models and the bikes are mostly finished. Also I started a tid bit of work on the Blood Slaughterer.

I managed to find a job in Nagoya and an apartment (in Chikusa), although I'm currently having some issues with the visa and guarantor. I think things will work out, but it's awfully stressful.

On the bright side, the rest of my Raging Heroes ladies arrived as reinforcements, bringing along veteran and stormtrooper ladies as well as the heavy weapon teams. I'm in the middle of a move, so I won't be working on them for a little while, but they look pretty good on the sprues at least!

Another mecha budgie this evening. And finished, too! What in the heck is the world coming to...

It's no da Vinci, but it'll do. I really need to work on my freehand, but perhaps something a tad bigger than a 3mm playing card might be a better place to start...
