I've been thinking about about flocking bases for a while. I'll need to check the model train section of Joshin next time I'm in town.

I usually just scrape some sand out of the park. Paint to suit. I have some greenish turf and snow I can lend you as long as you promise not to snort the whole bag!

Been converting and touching up some old Squat Hearthguard. They will be the bling-est, beardiest, baddest, neo-Tolkienesqe, bastiches to ever wield a bolt-pistol. Fun project. Only one to go of the 4.

Popped into an actual GW today (well, it says "Warhammer" on te sign these days, but they ain't fooling me...)

Anyway, staff were chatty without being pushy, nary a sales pitch in sight. Chatted about 40k, age of sigmar and a bit about Malifaux (I didn't push my luck too far with the Malifaux. Dude's at work. No purpose to making his life difficult). He said there's been good sales of AoS, and that 8th ed sales were v bad (about 2 boxes a month. Glasgow ain't London, but even so it's a big city, so 2 boxes a month is basically nuffink.) I also looked at the big AoS book (same size as what id expect a fantasy rulebook to be) Nice book, lots of fluff. Didn't read the whole thing page by page, of course, but seemed scanty on the rules.

On the plus side, those Admech are bloody nice close up, especially the long-leggity ones with more robo than man. Even the tracked ones are pretty cool.

All in all, I left with a fairly positive taste in my mouth. Didn't buy owt, like, but a pleasant store with a good atmosphere, in this gamer's humble opinion.

Yes, GW, sorry, Warhammer Glasgow is staffed by human beings. :) Just try not to get the manager going on the subject of Epic or Napoleonics ... :)

Today I took some photos of the minis I painted this month.

First up, some Lancastrians in the colours of the Duke of Somerset.

Some minis for D&D.

An armoured car and a truck with an improvised gun mount for my SS Bolt Action force.
Image

Some reinforcements for the same.

And a shot of my entire 10th SS Panzer Aufklärungsabteilung force.

Got some more work done on the Beakies.

The terminators need a little more work, but other than that it is just bases that need doing.

@Prim, lovely Lancastrians. When I get back I'll start on some Warwick bowmen. Looks like you're basing them for skirmishers?
@Spev, super Spacemenrines, termies carrying on that halved scheme. What chapter are they by the way? It's going to look even more epic when the lot is there on parade showing off their blue and white. Great RT collection forming.

Gah, etc. Recovering from Jetlag today. Was on the go for 24 hours getting home yesterday. We've all been there. Not feeling too ropey considering.
Have to get up at 5:30 tomorrow to make an early bus for the early train to the Edinburgh! Where I will hopefully meet MiJ and pals at the Claymore wargaming show, and inevitably buy some stuff. Warlord will be there. I should be picking up an mdf castle, at the least. I'll scout out the wars of the roses game they have there I hope, too. Early start though. The things we do for wargemmin...
