Look for the big white "Glasgow Games Group" banner, and see if you can bag a T-Rex before it bags you.

Lovejoy wrote:@Prim, lovely Lancastrians. When I get back I'll start on some Warwick bowmen. Looks like you're basing them for skirmishers?
@Spev, super Spacemenrines, termies carrying on that halved scheme. What chapter are they by the way? It's going to look even more epic when the lot is there on parade showing off their blue and white. Great RT collection forming.

Gah, etc. Recovering from Jetlag today. Was on the go for 24 hours getting home yesterday. We've all been there. Not feeling too ropey considering.
Have to get up at 5:30 tomorrow to make an early bus for the early train to the Edinburgh! Where I will hopefully meet MiJ and pals at the Claymore wargaming show, and inevitably buy some stuff. Warlord will be there. I should be picking up an mdf castle, at the least. I'll scout out the wars of the roses game they have there I hope, too. Early start though. The things we do for wargemmin...
They are Nova Marines mate.

When you are at the show, have a look and see if they have Dragon Rampant on display. I'm quite keen to hear about that.

Went to claymore today, met up with lovejoy and spent money on ye olde MDF buildings (although not as much as lovejoy. In his defence, that castle and watchtower are going to look awesome once they're assembled.) I didn't take much in the way of pictures, but things i saw included the Halo fleet game, age of sigmar (which seemed very popular, actually) and AGP's dino hunt game, which was a lot of fun. Here are some pics of the (very nice) dino hunt board:

Dino-hunt! That looks cool! What little boy in us all does not love dinosaurs. A buddy of mine made a little dinosaur mini-game called "Breakfast Time of Man". It was with bands of cavemen running around hunting dinosaurs. We always told him it should have been the other way around.

Me and Eric got in a 3 game mini campaign yesterday.

The governor of a small provincial backwater planet had his beer vending machine, and stash of grog stolen from his mansion by some sneaky Squats.

Normally, something this trivial would not warrant the interest of Space Marines, but this planet has a massive supply of the ore used in terminator armour, and the governor's niece is married to a high ranking official on Terra.

Reluctantly a squad of Nova Marines decided to investigate. While they did manage to find the grog, they were unable to recover the vending machine, and were gunned down, killed to a man.

After failing to make radio contact with their orbiting vessel, one of the chapter's most beloved heroes decided to teleport down and investigate. He press ganged a squad of local coppers, and went straight after the Squats on their home turf.

Alas, Cornelius Vandergilt and his poor press ganged lackeys met a similar fate.

Once word of this got back to Chapter HQ, it was decided that chapter honour was on the line, and that a serious force would need to be sent.

2 Captains, 2 tactical squad, a dreadnought, and a techmarine should get the job done!

A local informant told them that the Squats would be meeting up with their cohorts to pass along the vending machine, and get it off world.

Luckily, the marines got there in the nick of time, and managed to catch them red handed. The dreadnought grabbed the vending machine after the squats guarding it had been blinded by throwing crack grenades at a conversion field, and then had their heads power gloved off by. A pissed off captain.

Just have the elite infantry and some work on bases left. Should have the whole army done by Obon.

And here are some pics for that mad, epic, Rogue Trader series last Sunday at Ft. Spevna. I will not add to the commentary, except to say that the Squats were much more awesome than Spevna described, as it took a Dreadnought, a minor hero and an accompanying 5 man combat squad to finally run down the King and his band. Did I mention that RT Dreads have a BS of 8 and come with a T10 Power field...... Next time I'm bringing the big guns baby! Rock and Roll! Of course, they would have been a bit less awesome if I had not glossed over the fact that grenades are more or fire weapons in RT. oops....So much for the fistful of Melta Death that was working so well......
Beautiful minis, beautiful board, beautiful hefewiesen, a grand, grand day.

As I had the morning off today, I got a little painting time in. I started working on the infantry for my British 11th armoured division and I got the undercoating done on about 40 minis.

Dropped by Merhen on the way home from work to see what was what and picked up a box of terminators. Alas, they didn't have, and couldn't get in, hive guard at their rather tasty discount, so my zoats will have to wait. Alas!
Feel free to call me Dave!
