What did you do today.
Re: What did you do today.
Still in the UK..not doing overmuch beyond sorting through and packing stuff to send in boxes to Japan, as well as watching reruns of Midsomer Murders in the evenings. No Irn-Bru for me, lots of tea though.
I'll meet some friends from life pre-Japan towards the end of the week.

It's a carbonated soft drink made in Scotland. It's made from girders if I recall.YellowStreak wrote:WTF is irn-bru? Sounds like a species of goat...!me_in_japan wrote:Today I ate an irn-bru flavoured ice cream cone.

Re: What did you do today.
Today, in a typically misguided expenditure of hobby energy, I decided to liven up some of my Napoleonics' bases with clump foliage and static grass.

I also started fiddling with lists for Bolt Action.

Re: What did you do today.
Me Aux and job spent a day dying shiny and chromed on the sands of Gorkamorka. Epic, epic day gentlemen. Played a total of 3 games and there was much rending of metal and gnashing of Choppaz. I played the SquatOrks and tried out a home-brew Outlaw Biker list, a guy on Yak tribe has in beta test. Job retro-conned his Beastmen and Rhinos into a mob of Gorkers. The figures were perfect. And Aux had his soon to be Kingz of da Sand Boyz. I'm not going to get into a play by play battle report, but here are a few pics and comments.
Game one had us running rings around that rock in the center until da Beast's track finally got caught by a lucky shot from my Biker Boss's hand kannon. Boom!
Everything would have worked as long as Aux did not manage to get around to my side of the rock. Movement distances in Gorkamorka are a bit random, so I figured I had good odds. .....You would not believe that scumbos dice .....
Start of the last game. We piled a bunch of loot in the center and said, "Go for it!" Nice cinematic scene there with the bikers chasing Aux's truck and da Beasts coming in off the other side.

...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

Re: What did you do today.
This evening finds me recently returned from what I can only describe as the perfect night out. In summary, myself and a number of mates that I haven't seen for ages (years in one case) went out on the town, ate a silly amount of food and drank a lot. Special mention should be made of the food - an all-you-can-eat Brazilian restaurant with 15 different cuts of meat*. There was even a mark sheet where you could tick off what you'd had. Every last one of them was awesome. Waiters and waitresses would come to your table bearing skewers of meat and say things like "have you tried the sirloin yet, gentlemen? You have? Would you like some more?"
Aaaaah. Bliss
This was followed by a series of drinks (er, can't remember how many) and that kind of conversation you can only have with your long-time mates from school where you laugh so hard you start tearing up.
An awesome night.
*also the only restaurant I've ever been to where the salad bar had chicken wings and beef stew.

Today was sales training which was not particularly fun followed by beer with a friend which was good fun. We decide to do more language exchanges to work on our English and Japanese communication.
Which means I have to get a jump on preparations for tomorrow!
