Re: What did you do today.
Got the next 5 Germans pretty close to done. Highlighting on their fatigues and flesh tones and they'll be good. I'm going to try to spray the next lot tonight, since there's some weather coming.
Edit: Squad's done, and since I was too lazy to spray last night the next thing will be to finish off some PHR walkers I've had primed and started for a bit.

Today I got some more minis done and photographed.
Some Men-at-Arms for dealing with those nasty Yorkists.

And some skeletons and creepy bugs for D&D.

Got a good bit of priming done in anticipation of the coming typhoon. Also got a start on the base grey for the PHR walkers on the table.

Past couple of nights I based and did some painting on the Fusilier-Grenadiers battalion. I also ordered a bunch or flags and fannions from GMB

Re: What did you do today.
Came back from Beijing on Sat and did some more work on the WW2 French on the weekend. Started highlighting some of the troops and began painting my Laffly W15 TCC (which is probably rubbish in game terms, but looks cool).
So many games, so little time....

Re: What did you do today.
Got a bit of work done today on my (hopefully last) Neptune dropship for my DzC PHR forces. Then the AA walkers it's carrying and back to Germans. So much gray...
(Seriously, the drive to paint color may be what gets work done on my Napoleonics here - I'm thinking seriously of slipping another unit of infantry in between the PHR and the Germans just so I can do some red.)

I've been working on carving styrofoam scenery bits since Obon. It's been more challenging than I expected and a lot of the things I do when painting models don't seem to apply or will melt styrofoam. I've gone through a fair amount of paint and hobby supplies but I think I can start producing passable finished pieces soon. It helps that terrain doesn't get inspected as carefully as models do.
Here's a big hill I'm willing to call finished.

If you are looking to cut up foam, a hot wire cutter (available from most places that sell foam) is indispensable.
Once the foam is cut, a coat of PVA/white glue will help to strengthen it and provide a basis for paint.
Plastic glue and aerosols will melt through foam. Use white glue or superglue for everything.
Foam comes in different grades. The cheaper stuff is white and is very easy to break, leaving you with little white balls everywhere.
The blue foam is stronger and produces way less mess.
The pink foam is the best, but a little expensive.
