Nice to see that you join the incredible hobby of having kids but word of warning I heard they are more adictive than GW's plastic crack

Congratulations to you and your wife, Joe :) Lorraine's a nice name, too. As folks have said, kids do curtail the hobby time a good deal, but at least for the first wee bit there's not a whole huge amount you can do, as the dad. Mostly it's about keeping mum happy, rather than baby. Keep the missus well stocked with tea and biscuits, and make sure to do your share of nappy changing and you'll be able to hobby for a good year, maybe more. After that, though...

@agp - you shame me, you shame me, sir. Lovely infiniminis, and there's mine sitting there all a-metal :(

Konrad wrote:And speaking of more pictures, I saw one of our very own Lovejoy posted up on the back of my JHS 3rd graders classroom, his smiling face cheerfully inviting them to enroll at Lovejoy's Big Fun Eigoland High School. I'm only roughly translating the school name as best I can. I'll be calling him "Posterboy" from now on I think.
They seem to be hawking Lovejoy's Eigofuntime High School open days quite heavily in Aichi, and I've seen my wonderfully sincere mug grinning out manically from a sample poster. I had no idea where they were displayed. They have a lot of these open schools at weekends, and they always seem to coincide with Joshin, which is a bit unfortunate. A couple of us four foreign teachers have to attend each time. Since it's a private school they need to keep the recruitment up.

It's a nice environment if their parents have the money...and if students want to get on in English they get shedloads of opportunity to improve (partly through a fairly costly homestay abroad) It's called Seirinkan High School, rather than that Krusty the Klown seeming moniker suggested (although I like Eigoland High School better) and theres a big international focus. http://www.seirinkan.ed.jp/course/international.html

i actually finished colette last night, but it was late and i didnt have time for pics. As usual im less than happy with the end result. Those loverly legs that I was so happy with suffered sorely under my attempts to paint fishnets on em, and so have been re-clad in tights. Said tights were supposed to be grey, but for some reason best known to better artists, mixing black with flesh tone ultimately resulted in khaki green. Odd. But anyway, I'm fed up with Mdml Colette, so khaki it is.

@ MiJ: Your figurine lady looks colorful, sexy and with a twinkling of savage. Should look sharp on the table.

Thanks to all for the kind words and advice.

Today I helped move the wifey and baby into the in-laws' house. After work I worked on a language exchange and had coffee and beer. When I got home I worked on some Perry Napoleonics.

@MiJ, superb, as usual. The greenish tights actually set off the reds nicely as complementary colours, I thought that was by design. Works anyway.

@M_i_J - Nice job with Colette.

Today I spent a few hours painting some US Infantry, some US Airborne and some Lancastrian Billmen. The infantry and billmen are plastic, but the airborne are all metal and despite my best efforts still have quite a few mold lines in hard to reach places. I think I must have got a bad batch as some of them have two or even three mold lines running parallel. Oh well. Hopefully they won't look too naff when they are all painted up.

Got the Angel gang in the post about two days ago, and managed to get them done!

I purposely went for a muted and understated palette.
