Pish! There is nothing more in the old skool Rogue Trader mindset than playing with whatever miniatures you happen to have lying around - even if they're new.

I do have some old school metal marines, but only a couple. I still have the 2nd ed Wolf dex lying around and a bunch of 2nd ed metal space wolves.

I also have a 1st ed Leman Russ as well, though I dunno what his stats would be given that he is an Imperial Commander, not a Primarch
