Me and the old man watched Star Trek Beyond and were completely entertained and baffled. The film doesn't really know if it's Trek, Star Wars or Masters of the Universe. We enjoyed it though. Couldn't help getting annoyed by the inclusion of Ambassador Spock. What is going on there?
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

@Ashmie - I would really suggest watching the first of the reboot movies if I were you. It explains a lot.

Yesterday I did more work on some Anglo-Saxons and began painting an extra command figure for Black Powder.

My completed PHR ECM frigates:

I touched up the scheme on the first one (on the left) using lessons learned, and I'm overall pleased with how they look. It's rather more fiddly than the other schemes I'm going with for DFC, but since I can whack out Scourge and even UCM at a pretty snappy pace, something that takes longer will not be so onerous.

Which is kind of putting the cart before the horse until I get some more actual games in, but still.

very...shiny ships there, Dave. Defo will look good on the table top.

I've been doing odds and ends of painting recently. A bit of cruiser here, some big bulgy bugbear muscles there, but the past couple of days its mostly been nuddy Tiefling, so here's a picture of progress so far.

Geez M_i_J, a couple of black bars photoshopped on top or something next time please. I'm getting funny looks from the old lady sat next to me now. :?
Last night I did most of the work needed to finish off an extra command model for Black Powder. Between that and a visit to my local Yakitori place, I didn't manage to do much of anything else.

'S ok. Just tell her you have a teeny tiny demon fetish. She'll understand - it's Japan.

I was listening to an article on a podcast I like about dazzle camouflage, and the presenter describes contemporary paintings of dazzle ships as looking like "art deco cupcakes". I like to think this scheme channels some of that, heh.

I'm actually kind of excited about getting a fleet together - it may just happen before the UCM does. Helps that I'm fond of the rules for PHR, in particular durable, shooty, bombardment-capable bulk carriers, frigates with burnthrough lasers or launch bays, and bombers that hit on a 2+, but a whole fleet of these Chris Foss-ish eye-stabbing spaceships is a big part of the charm as well.

Just reading up on Dazzle Camouflage on Wikipedia. Clever idea really, some of the pictures of it really do make it hard to tell what you are looking at.

I think I remember watching a documentary or some news story about that - I think they may have tried to recreate the designs on some ships in the UK recently. The Dazzle Camouflage was originally the work of British female artists, wasn't it?

@MiJ - She definitely personifies lethal attraction! :D ;) Great stuff. The blending on the forearms and ankles is a particularly nice touch!
