Over the weekend I juuust about finished up the Unmade for Warcry. It's been an interesting experiment in pushing boundaries with painting skin, and it's been working out mostly OK - although I am glad that all the models in the warband are wearing masks.

My Mordheim warband is complete.

Just the heroes.

And the henchmen.

With the exception of the metallic bits, the models were all done with a 2-step paint job. Base colour followed by a 1:1:2 Base:Light Grey:Matt Medium highlight.

Nice! The semi-monochrome look is pretty cool.

I finished up the Unmade for WarCry this evening:

As I say it was a fun exercise - not only the skin tones, but the very subtle (for me) shading on the boss lady's white cowl and ribbons. I might have leaned a little heavily into the "the only color is purple" thing, but they are from the realm of Shyish (motto: "our official color is purple") so what choice did I have?

good lor' dave - you're a veritable painting machine these days. Very nice work on skelly-boy and his chums, there.

@Prim - and indeed, speaking of painting machines, once again you far outstrip me in minis per week vs my minis per...well, year, probably at this rate

As for me, I've done a little painting recently, but have not really had much free time, tbh. Hopefully I'll be able to get some in on Thursday, as my usual lesson has been cancelled.
current (2019) hobby interests
eh, y'know. Stuff, and things

Wow. And then Corona happened. Just....crickets, all the way through to 2023...

@ToD - It's ironic that the first thing everyone does after buying The Unmade is to make them. :D
The purple looks good and the white ribbons are very nicely done.

@M_i_J - "Quantity has a quality all it's own." - J. Stalin, presumably expressing his opinion on all you can eat buffets. :D
The week is still young, stay tuned...

That's skelly-lady, thankyouverymuch. :D Although admittedly one of the problems with ritualistically turning yourself into a quadruple amputee after flaying the skin from your own face so you have to wear a mask all the time is a lack of traditional gender markers, so you do have to spend some time with the model to figure this out.

And just to keep the painted model posts rolling along, a Chimera and a...er... strange dog like thing with a massive face from Reaper, which I think is meant to be a Komainu. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Komainu

And this lot should earn me enough credit to finish off the week. :D

Last night I painted a brimstone horror, for the Eyes of the Nine, the Tzeentchian warband for Underworlds:

Ain't they cute?

I'm leaving on a(nother) week-long overseas business trip tomorrow, so probably won't get much more done soon, but OTOH I will come back with yet more minis to paint. :?
