Thanks for the games, yesterday. It was a blast to get to roll dice again. You guys are a great gaming group. I hope you'll let me in on any events in the future.
-Mike nicely painted models! An incredible array of units and well based. Thanks for taking the initiative and putting the event together. And the 4-3 win for you was well fought. Loved how you pressed all sides like a true Soviet, staking one side, but keeping me pressed on both flanks to keep my (hand-full) of guys spread thin. And "Wow!" Quiet the battery and the first time I've ever seen anyone use AT guns for the Soviets. I myself use art heavily for my Americans and have modeled them. They take a lot of work.
-Primarch (Stuart), nicely played game. My company got raked on way to the targets. Your cromwells just kept punching holes in my Panthers and mixing it up with my heavies. I thought you did really well. 5-2 doesn't reflect how much on the ropes you had several platoons and how I was just on the target by some luck in breaking your platoon.
-(English, American and Italian guys) Sorry, I've already forgotten your names, or at least I'm not confident I'm recalling them correctly. If you can tell me your names again I'll make an effort to learn them.
And to the Italian guy (sorry)- if you're interested in playing some board games, I love strategy games like the one last night. I thought it was really fun.

It was a pleasure to meet you too. I'm Ash who played against Mike in the morning as Brits.
Come to the Warhammer Fantasy event on the 31st of this month. That's Halloween. Same venue, a bit pricier for the day as it's a tournament but we have plenty of spare armies if you want to take part.
I'll be playing Orc and Goblin and yes I have more than enough points it turns out. Time to get painting.

Thanks to everyone (Primarch, Ashmie, Job, Fox in Japan and Emmanuale(?) ) that came out to the event. I had a really good time and it was good to see some models on the table that weren't mine :D Turn out was a little low but those that did show up got in some quality gaming time and I think us Noobs learnt a lot.

As for the games themselves:
  • *British Paras routed German Grenadiers in their first ever drop on Japanese soil.
*German Panthers and Tigers earn a bitter victory from the Northerners of the 50th Infantry Division.
*A Russian Infantry horde see off a German Panzer Battlegroup after much bloody fighting.
*The Tyne and Tees boys run into trouble again against a German Grenadier force.
*The Kids gang run faster than everyone else and escape the Monster's lair, after losing only one of their members.

When I get round to organising the Warmahordes/mixed games day, I hope you'll bring down your FoW armies and demo the game for the folks who couldnt make it this time.

Two quick rule corrections ("mistakes I made"):
1) Primarch, there is a 25% chance I cheated you out of a driving off my Panther tank. I think it was p57 or so, that describes the rules for independent teams that are left sole survivor in a platoon that is entirely destroyed. The command tank in that situation has to take the morale test for the annihilated platoon. There was a chance I would've missed the morale test and re-roll and have lost the 1ic.
2) Mike, as for the complicated assault into two or more platoons. The rules in the assault section state that assaulting teams must attack a team of the unit they targeted, but can not ignore the rule stating they must charge the closest enemy team. So any team caught with some other enemy target closer then the intended target, must either stop and only provide "covering fire" or during the shooting phase previous to charging target the closest team.
Sorry, both my bads. Complicated rules that always provide new situations where one still hasn't had experience or already forgotten the answer. :?
Col. Voss maybe someday we can get a game together? I'll be trying to put more of my company together.

@Job: Thanks for the rules clarifications. We are all still pretty new to all this so we welcome any help.

@Everyone: I won't be going to Joshin on the 24th of October nut should be OK for the November game day (the 28th?). How about some Flames of War then. If we got a fourth player in we could get two good games in each with different opponents. Any takers at this early stage?

If I don't go back to Eugene to eat Turkey with my family or I'm back early, I'd be up for it. I'll report in on a speculative Nov. 28th again as my schedule becomes more clear.

Sure, I'll try and make the trip at the end of November to play some Flames. I might have to borrow an army otherwise I'll be playing with the base coated greens again. Although that was quite fun last time.
