Aaaand moving on , its kinda nice to know that we’ll still have wood elves as we know it going forward. I personally really like the satyr/kurnothi/Lorwyn elves, but there’s no harm in having both. Keeps everyone happy, I suppose Incidentally, I remembered where I’d seen the new elf before - she looks a lot like a GW-ified version of Ar-Fienel from studio mcvey, from years ago. (Id post a pic, but imgur is an ass to use on my keitai)

I recently ran across a post elsewhere on the interwebs detailing the differences between the last time Nids* got a model and the number of marine related releases since.
The broodlord model was released in 2014. Since then no new Nids have been released, whereas marines got:

Oh that's really interesting actually. Can you get this info for the other factions as well? I'd like to see how many releases the Guard got in that time period.

The only models IG have gotten since 7th are Sly Marbo and Severina Raine. There were 5 kits released in 2014 though which includes Scions, Taurox, Hydra/Wyvern, Bullgryns/Ogryns/Nork Deddog, Prefectus Commissar.

Oh thanks! Its a lot less than I thought actually. Surprised to see most xenos factions have had more releases over the past couple of editions than Guard.

Hopefully a good sign for 9th then.

To be fair if we're counting them we should be counting Ripper Jackson and the Colonel.

Of course if we're counting them we're also counting a *LOT* of Primaris Lieutenants.

The spreadsheet doesn't include limited edition models and honestly I had completely forgotten they even existed. Even though they don't have unique datasheets they apparently they come with rules with Ripper Jackson being a veteran sergeant and the Catachan Colonel being a Company Commander. They are on 32mm bases though which makes things a little strange.

Both of those weren't really released though - they were only available for a short amount of time and you can't get them anymore. The colonel especially wasn't even available for order - only a few stores actually received a couple and most were raffled off as prizes from what I heard.

That is very odd, they should really be special characters if they're going to rock 32s. Base sizes are a mess but I thought there was some kind of system with modern releases!

The really surprising thing for me here is that Severina Raine *isn't* limited edition and can be ordered to this day, which I guess means she counts and the special Catachans don't after all.

Yeah I thought Raine was in the same bucket (she was released alongside her book and is resin, so I'm shocked she stuck around).

Plamojuku of all places did receive a Colonel though! I snapped it up and passed it along to my friend Dan.
