It used to be we could tell when our students used translation software, because it made crazy mistakes no living Japanese student would make. They make particular, unique crazy mistakes. :D Now you can tell when the writing is too good.
The English classes I teach at a JHS don't allow any devices of any kind during the lessons, and all essays have to be hand written during class.

Well, the British election is today. Hopefully we will see a well deserved change in government. Whether that change will do any good however...

According to the exit poll, it looks like the Tories and the SNP have had a thorough kicking up the arse. Labour look to have a large majority, more than enough to carry out their manifesto.

Aye, the Tories and the SNP got a right kicking, which, frankly, they both deserved. Looking around my own area, Glasgow has gone completely labour, with one nearby constituency flipping to lib dem but the city and environs are otherwise red all over the place.

Now, of course, the real work begins. What are Starmer and crew going to do about the state the country is in, and will the country give them a chance to do it?

Wow. And then Corona happened. Just....crickets, all the way through to 2023...

Yeah, it's one thing to criticize the other party when they are messing up, quite another to do better yourself. (Though it would be tough to do worse).
Sad to see Farage's mob got quite a lot of votes overall, even if they couldn't get many actual seats. The Libs are back to being the ineffectual 3rd place party, and the SNP had better up their game if they don't want to lose the Scottish Assembly too.
