This has got me thinking about looking into migrating this forum to a more modern platform where it may be possible to integrate tools such as discord (something like Flarum),, AFAIK, pushing forum posts into Discord isn't too hard (depending on the platform), but going the other way (discord to forum) may be harder.
All depends on what Stu is interested in doing and possible costs though...

Oh, definitely - as a solid Gen-X'er a nice asynchronous threaded forum will always have a place in my heart. On the other hand, the Discord is small and quiet aside from, TBQH, me personally being terminally online / trying to be the change.
With only a dozen of us total I don't think it'll ever get to blink-and-you'll-miss-it levels of activity. As folks have noted I think the main problem with using it as our "main" platform is discoverability / joinability, but things that function as searchable and easily sharable landing pages that are also free are hard to find.
Here's the refreshed link though! https://discord.gg/DeK32UYs

No complete solutions, but two things that can help. First, users can always click the + to the left of where you type to start a "thread" which is meant to be a sort of more focused mini-channel within a channel. That can help keep things organized if they need to be. And second, if you're looking for something that perhaps has been swallowed up by newer comments, you can always use the search in the upper right. The search also lets you use "from:X" to search from a user, and "in:Y" to limit the search to a specific channel. So you can get pretty specific like, "orks from:Dave in:painting-and-modeling."
