Even 40k models?
Nah, if it would be possible I would like to because I don't want to buy any more models but that would be a well bit strange for the 1920's..
I know it seems a bit mean, but you cant really proxy your Space Wolves for everything mate. Using them as marines is doable, using them as a stand in because you misplaced a chaos warrior can be understood, but at some point you'll have to get new models if you want to get into a new game, though obviously that depends on the game. Warriors of Chaos (being basically strong, savage looking humans) can fit into a few other games easily enough I guess.
If you're serious about playing a game, invest in the models, buy the rulebooks and the stuff you need to play (templates, dice, measures etc) and even try to build some terrain if you can. Most of the folks at Joshin who want to introduce a new game spend the money to buy 2 small starter forces to run demo games, but really only want to expand one of those groups.
Essentially, try a game by asking someone to demo it for you. If you dont like it, no harm done. If you do like it, the next time you play, try to have some of the figures yourself, even if its not a full army/team. After all the guy demoing the game has played with the exact same forces time and time again and would probably welcome a change, even if its just 1 or 2 minis. If you cant afford to invest in the game you shouldn't expect the other guy to buy, build and paint up two forces.
Obviously I am the exception where I actually DO build 2 large forces for most of the games I play.
