I booked here, if anyone else is looking for a handy hotel. It looks to be within spitting distance of the venue. No idea where the izakaya is in relation, mind you.

Thats because I haven't said which Izakaya it will be.
Anyway, there are a couple of them on the road in front of the gaming venue, so it'll probably be one of them.

Out of curiosity, why no competitive eating allowed?

If I can make it on the 4th for free play I'll definitely drop in for a beer or two.

I say if, I hope to be there just it's slap bang in the middle of golden week so I might be away.

Added;

What the heck. I've just been reading the threads and there is no way I'm gonna miss this bitch fight for anything. Should be a laugh. :)

Ok,
I've done some looking around and found a place which is open and near the venue. (Pikey went there with me the night before the last NagoyaHammer, so he can vouch for it).
The Izakaya is pretty small and local and I have been there a lot. The owner/chef/manager is a great guy and is very friendly, plus the food is aces, so I'd rather put the business his way rather than to a big chain store unless people feel differently.
The menu is:
3 Hours, all you can drink booze.
10 course meal consisting of:
Nachos, Pizza, Pasta, Grilled Chicken, Roast Beef, Salmon Sashimi Salad, and some other bits and pieces.
Price: 3800 yen.

As the last game finishes at 9, I'll make the reservation from 9:30pm until 12:30 pm.

If you want to come along, but dont want to stay for 3 hours/order nomihoudai then I think it will be possible for you to come in and order on a separate bill. You will have to sit at a different table I guess, but the tables are all right next to each other anyway, so it shouldn't make any difference.

The place only holds 18 people, but I dont think that will be a problem.

I need FINAL figures no later than the 26th as I will be making a reservation on the 27th.

Of the 2 business hotels in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=689 one of them is literally across the street from the bar and the other (the one M_i_J is using) is about a 5 minute walk/10 minute drunken stagger away.
