Finished up the armor on my scouts for ASC. (Yes, I am being a bit scattershot in my painting these past couple days.)

Metal, skin, and details - chapter markings and a certain amount of futzing about with decals - and they'll be done.

Also did base decoration on some gaunts and another round of Epic Iron Warriors. They'll get sprayed tonight, knock on wood.

Not much done today, I applied some more paint to the terrain I am building for NH2013. I finished Shadows of Treachery this evening, having started to read it yesterday. Lots of time spent riding trains in the last couple of days means lots of time for reading. :D It was nice to see some audio books finally making it into print.

Started working on a battlewagon for my boys. VERY work in progress at the mo, far too ugly to deserve a picture.

Went to work at 7:30am. Got back from work at 7:30pm. Played with son for 30mins while attempting to eat dinner. Gave son a bath. Read son a story. Did more work that I'd had to bring home until 11:00ish. Drank 1 glass of baileys and milk. Ate 2 timtams because goddam it sometimes life demands a choccy biccy. Had shower. Went to bed.

Today was baws  (with the exception of the 45mins or so I spent with my son. That was nice :) )

me_in_japan wrote:@tod - try adding a touch of white to the foundation and a touch of orange to the Vallejo. That might pep things up a bit?
I think a touch of orange is probably the answer - the wash I used here was Vallejo Gold Yellow + Vallejo Smoke, and while Smoke is the shiznit in all ways, something warmer may be needed to bring the color more in line with what the old method produced.

Not that I shouldn't really be working on Voss' Iron Warriors, heh.

Vallejo Gold Yellow base, then washed with Citadel Casandora Yellow, then highlighted with Gold Yellow, Sunburst Yellow and VMC Ivory. All over a grey primer.

That is nice. Ah, the joys of yellow.

Finished up my scout squad last night. Next on the block is finishing up those Falcons, then some Iron Warriors, then some Termagants.

Edit: And that's the Falcons done.

@ToD - nice stripes on the falcons, chief :)

Well, it looks like the universe is reading this thread, as steps have clearly been taken to ensure my karma was rebalanced after the pile o poo that was yesterday. Today I : received 2 emails from 2 banks confirming that they would be more than happy to loan me a wad of dosh to build a house (huzzah!), and when I got home my wife had prepared steak and mushrooms fried in butter to celebrate. Not only that, but she'd remember that I'd run out of beer and so she'd bought some more. Three cheers for my wife :) Then, to round it off, I got a letter from the executors of the now bankrupt NOVA company, asking for my bank details please, as they would like to send me 7man as my share of what was left after NOVA went belly-up.

Some days are baws, but other days ya just ain't got nothing to complain about :D
