Re: Some more Epic stuff
do you have any Vipers in the army? as far as I can tell the Eldar Players love the vipers in 40K... I was just wondering if they were as good in Epic...

Re: Some more Epic stuff
They fulfill a basically different role to regular jetbikes in Epic. Jetbikes are good in an assault but have no regular shooting attacks - just a firefight value. Vypers have a shooting attack but their firefight value isn't as good. Jetbikes are happiest assaulting small isolated support formations and wiping them out, while Vypers prefer to use the Eldar shoot-n-scoot ability to harass enemy formations, staying at range while keeping the enemy off-balance with blast markers.Admiral-Badruck wrote:do you have any Vipers in the army? as far as I can tell the Eldar Players love the vipers in 40K... (Mostly, though, I have jetbikes because they came on the plastic infantry sprue, and don't have Vypers because they didn't.)

Re: Some more Epic stuff
Well, in a frenzy of pre-move painting, I got pretty much all of my Epic stuff painted and based - still have a dozen or so stands of Orks to go, and have to order more big bases for superheavies, but I have more than enough for what's below - a 4000-point demo-type force for each army I'm capable of fielding. (I was talking to one of the Japanese guys last month, and came to the realization that a demo of Epic that doesn't have titans on the board is Doing It Wrong - so I bumped the points up a bit so I could use titans and all kinds of cool formations.)
So, roll call!
Steel Legion!

Armored Regiment!

(These two are, in fact, quite similar. The armored regiment trades out some infantry for MORE TANKS! And some Manticores and what-not, but really. It's all about the superheavies.)
Blood Angels!

(The current list doesn't allow for titan allies, alas. To compensate, have a strike cruiser and a formation in drop pods.)
Titan Legions!

(Holy crap, that's not very many models.)
Eldar Swordwind!

(The Warlock is "actually" an ordinary Phantom. Warlocks must have a psychic lance in the current ruleset, and mine doesn't. Since I like the pulsar, we'll just ignore the psychic abilities and say he's a Phantom with an odd design.)
Waaargh!

And a closeup of the Gargant.

And keep in mind that all these forces come to the same points values. Them's a lot of orks!
Whew! Ready to pack up and move to the new apartment over the weekend. After the move, I may even get back to the goblin project, since there's not much left to do for Epic.
I do want to get some Eldar and Ork fliers from Forgeworld, though...

Re: Some more Epic stuff
Heh. They are the dreadnoughts I have. Since I had a whole mess of them kicking around, it didn't really seem right to buy the new metal ones at (can you believe it?) 10 pounds for a pack of 3.Primarch wrote:Are those... Chaos Dreadnaughts I see in your Blood Angels force? For shame!
